Aeveron (DE) - melodic death metal
|
Posted in another thread here already but:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bil6GCGvy9o Skip to 2:00 if you don't like the intro, but I really recommend listening to it all the way. I have honestly never been more impressed with an upcoming metal band as I have with these guys from Zwickau in Germany. If you could check them out on http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/official-AEVERON/176148059064 and give them a like, it'd be great, and also look for their content on youtube, their previous album (Existential Dead End) has been a major influence on me in the last few years and if you don't know them now, I can guarantee you'll want to if Melodic Death Metal is your kind of thing. |

stick to swedish bands. There all great Metal comes from<3

Not necessarily, look at In Flames, they've gone fairly downhill for many people since the start, and bands like AEVERON are taking influences from many bands like In Flames, Arch Enemy (sort of Swedish), At The Gates, and incorporating them into their own music, without changing so dramatically that it puts people off :P

Are you serious?... how is that so? ._. please explain |
|
Well, all my friends who like metal bar one or two people loved the Clayman and Colony albums (myself included) and that's the kind of stuff I can see remnants of in AEVERON but the new album (Playground) has just been limp wristed and boring for me. It's lost the darkness behind it and the kick it once had.

I can agree that Playground wasn't a good album but it was because Jesper left the band because of alcoholic problems. so Björn/Bjorn had to write by himself. Still In Flames are really creative and one of the better bands in the world. As I said true metal comes from Sweden. In Flames, At The Gates, Dark Tranquillty, Hypocrisy, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Bloodbath, Opeth, Entombed, Miseration, Scar Symmetry, Unleashed, Ceremonial Oath, Dimension Zero, Death Destruction, Adept represents us and they are doing it really good! |

I will admit In Flames are still creative, and I still respect them, but I'm just not buying their new material is all. I do of course love most of the bands you listed I mean.. Amon Amarth just can't write a bad song. It's physically impossible. And old Scar Symmetry was my thing (they replace Christian with 2 vocalists, derp), but Miseration, DT, Opeth etc, pure gold.
But I think the German scene is developing more (with influences from Swedish bands), and because of the way the German language sounds and the general culture around metal I've seen there, I find the music to be darker and more like 90's era Melodeath. Other bands you might like from Germany - Thulcandra, Varg, Van Canto, Saltatio Mortis. It's just got its own personal feel to it, German metal. |
