i have a freind that bought a 2000EUR laptop, 8GB 1333MHz, 3,4GHz quadcore intel and 2GB intel (dedicated).... it overheats within 30min in a 5man dungeon... i would not reccomend a laptop for wow, since wow is terrebly designed for using computer power.
i have a 4,2GHz quadcore amd, 8GB 1333MHz, and 6770HD ati (1gb dedicated) (desktop) it runs at insane temparatures when playing wow, similary to what openCL creates (70C +) i know, i do have new grafic card on my to-buy list
WAYYY to low, my boss bought a new laptop for office use, with 1,9GHz, and that is insanly slow, even just for casual use. Edit: you will prolly run it at 5-10FPS questing on lowest grafic. I builded a PC for a freind to borrow from old random parts (3,0GHz triple, 3GB DDR2, 512 didicated) it ran wow with 5-10FPS, when questing, he called me a and yelled WTF dude, it sucks. |

I think it depends on the brand and the specifications and where you buy it for laptops. I run WoW on high settings (including shadows, I can do ultra without) on a £400 laptop that I bought from PC world. It gets hot after afew hours but a laptop cooler can help for long raids :). Desktops generally are much better. To go back to the question you might be able to handle the game on fair in the outside world (with shadows off). You'll manage on low.

min setting 25 fps raid around 5 fps at the most
would not recomend raiding on it but its more than enough to jsut play casual on. dungeons will allso bring you low but you will be able to play it barely. i have a notebook that size and it can play on those setting descriped above. |
