question on trade channel outside major citys

Hi
simewhat unformiliar with this medium, so am not sure if i am at the right place, i asked a GM in game but he reffered me to this forum ? Any way was wondering why not (if it is possible) to make it so that one can listen in on trade and LFG while questing or farming. Fact is that its very hard to find a grp (pug) in trade (specialy for old raids) sometimes waiting for ever on a tank or healer. And i dont want to hang arround in a city all day ... So if i could do my dailys while monitring trade (lfg like icc etc( that would be perfect ;) kind regards Rode |

Should probably put this in the Raid and Dungeons or General forum, as it's more of a suggestion rather than a CS related issue. They'll most likely redirect it there.
On topic, there used to be a general chat or LFG serverwide but it got removed, probably to keep spammers from having an easy place to spam. |

This used to be possible in the ancient times of wow, though I believe it was changed right before Wrath or Cataclysm when they merged all tradechannels into one which was valid for every major city in Azeroth. There are rumours of an addon making this possible, but the same rumour says people have been banned for using it.
As to why? Well.. Who knows.. |

Well, maybe Blizzard implements a solution at some point that makes group-recruitment happen somewhere else than in trade chat. -Rather that that moving the trade chat out of the city, I'd say.
It'll be a glorious day when trade chat is used for... Trade! ;-) |

Don't think use itself was what they were banned for, but technically they could act proxy for illegal acts, like swearing, spamming, etc. and some people got banned for that. |
