Penance damage only macro?

Is it possible to make a penance macro that will act in the exact same way as a normal damage spell? So for example if i tried to use it with no target it would say 'you have no target' rather than just casting it on myself?

That seems to do the trick, thanks.
And so i can bind pennance to use as dps both for leveling and for PvP, why not? |

Why not just target someone then it till attack them?
