What would you like to happen to this zone? I want an update. After Winterspring, it's my favorite zone.
I remember over a year ago, i saw some video of some beta Silithus where Cenarion Hold was under attack or something. There were tentacles sprouting from the ground and i think there was one massive eye above the entire village. Obviosly something C'Thun related. Has anyone else seen this? And what happened to it? |

I'm sorry but in my six years of playing wow I never got around to even setting foot in silithus, both pre cata and during it. So I am unaware of what the quests in that zone are like other than it must've played a significant part during Vanilla with the Druids of the Cenarion circle fighting against C'thun and the Silithid during the whole War of the Sands incident.
Of course I could be wrong, I'm merely speculating from rumours and little tidbits of lore of that zone. |

You should try it, it's a really cool place. The quests there suck, but you'll love the atmosphere. And yes, in vanilla Sillithus was a significant part of endgame. And of course there were the world event that happened there.

I don't really see what they can do with it. Its too remote to be of real strategic use to either the Alliance or Horde and its so dominated by the Silithid it would be hard to do anything else with it.
The only way I think it could have a resurgence is if the Qiraji return as a major threat. |

Silithus is definitely one of my favourite zones in the game, though southern Kalimdor in general appears largely neglected these days. I do prefer how it used to be, however - a lot of the more intriguing quests in the region have either been removed entirely or nerfed to the point where they're no longer as intense as originally intended.

I believe those quests were part of the scrapped legendary staff that was replaced with Dragonwrath. Of couse I'd love for Silithus get updated and indeed the only way for it make any sense is for another theat from the Qiraji/old gods. At least those datamined quests tell us that blizzard has at least considered doing it like that. I'd like to hope that the reason it wasn't updated with Cataclysm, even though it would have ftted in perfectly is that they are saving it for later. |

For those with no clue what the OP is talking about:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOT-dgvbYMg Silithus ended up really disappointing, and it would be nice to see it brought up to scratch. However, with Cataclysm over, I don't really see what to do with it. Silithus was always about the Silithid and C'thun, and with the Old Gods having a very minor role in Mists(as far as we know) recreating a zone that revolves entirely around one is going to feel.... weird... They could of course skip C'thun and have it focus on what happens to the Silithid when nobodys around to keep an eye on them. That'd be rather cool, but it wouldn't get us a giant floating eyeball that says hi, so that's a bit of a downer... |

I really don't see what is to like about this zone. For a supposed wasteland it is literally crawling with life all over, and that just doesn't make any sense. The mobs are annoying to fight too at that level, and I never liked needing to run through Silithid tunnel-networks underground, unless there are like 5 quests to complete down there at the same tme.

How is it crawling with life? The silithid are at best parasitic and have been confirmed to directly harm Azeroth itself by burrowing deep into the ground and creating writhing, swarming nests. The nests themselves are often aptly named, with at least one being referred to as a scar.

Even though Cho'Gall was about one of the few bosses i liked this expansion, i would rather the whole Med'An and Cho'Gall thing never happened in Ahn'Quiraj. Atleast C'Thun would still be around kicking to some degree.
Without him, the only thing that would be interesting in the zone, would be how the Silithid would act with no one to keep an eye on them, as Ehi said.
Maybe, that would have been cool though.
I enjoy the buzzing from the hives that you hear throughout the zone, the vast desert and the crystals. The hives themselves are very annoying to go through, but i love that one quest where the commanders wife has been corrupted. And what about Brann's pet monkey? Gotta pet that! |

Actually, i tracked down this video from Cenarion Hold, it seemed so interesting.

I guess you could say the zone is very buggy! *chuckles*
One of my favourite zones as well, It is a shame that it's empty most of the time now though |

Really like the Old gods, but I hope they don't bring the Silithid back. Sorry :(
If they bring them back, it's just another ZA-ZG patch, and come on, that wasn't that cool. C'thun is a cool old god, although is voice sucks ^^ and I really want more info about the old Gods. But I think it will take a while before we'll hear of C'thun again, if we're even going to see him again. |
