Is this server dying too?
|
|
Hi there,
I recently got the urge to make a character on an RP-PvP server as a mini-project. Of the 5 RP-PvP servers, Defias Brotherhood has a "high" population (which I'd rather avoid because it'd mean more non-RPers) and the other four have "low" populations. From looking on the forums, it seems that Sporeggar and Ravenholdt have died/are dying. What I'm wondering is, how is Scarshield Legion doing? Are all the "low" population RP-PvP servers dying? I hope not! Thanks for any help you can give! -Kia |

It's dead

Aww, really? That's a shame :(

I can't speak for alliance side but I can't imagine it being any better then horde. If you place yourself in VoS, write something in trade, go afk for 45 minutes, you can still scroll up and find your message (unless gold selling spammers have been online).

I wouldn't say it's dead, but it is what it has been classified as.. Low population.
I'm one of the people that actually like this size of server, but I know that a lot of people are of the opinion that there needs to be massive amounts of activity 24/7 |

It gets problematic when guilds can't recruit raiders, the pvp community dies and no one has raided the faction leaders in six months. ^^
It's nice and cozy for those that have a structured guild or a social group on the server. I know I wouldn't want to be "new" on this server. |

Apart from the server being very low populated there is also the fact that there's pretty much no RP left at all on SSL. I find it hard to believe that conditions are better on any other RP-PvP server, with exception for Defias Brotherhood of course.
I've played a little bit on Defias Brotherhood and maybe it's just me but I kinda like the high population. But then again, I'm used to the empty streets of SSL. As for the RP over there, it seems like they've got it going pretty good. That's just my experience though. |

I'm pretty sure a group of Alliance players killed Garrosh (or at least tried, don't know if successful) not too long ago, maybe a month or 2 ago. Obviously I'm not saying that makes anything better, but 6 months is a bit harsh xD |

Thanks for all the responses.
I was actually thinking it didn't sound too bad for what I wanted (I just want to make an RP alt I play/write occassionally, so I don't need to be able to raid or anything) but then you said the RP has pretty much died, which is a big shame! It might still suit if I plan to just solo RP for the most part... Anyway, thanks for all your help guys. Who knows, I might see you around in a little while :P |

Why does it have to be RP-PvP btw?
|
RP-PvP servers are personally my favourite due to the fact that in most games (MOST NOT ALL) they tend to be backwater and have a tighter-knit community than pure PvP or RP realms (part of the reason I stopped playing star wars is because DoM rolled on an RP realm and I didn't like it) RP-PvP realms also have naming policies enforced (As is evidenced by my name :s) so when I see people running round with names like, *sigh* I don't know, kelstenaqtxo for instance I can report them. Also, I just prefer the fact that PvP is enabled, you can punish members of the opposing faction (should you be lucky enough to see one on this realm). Dunno why OP needs it to be RP-PvP but this is why I like it. inb4 name reports. |
|
if u havent been here quite a long time the attraction of RP-PVP over other servers is near non existant
its one of the main reasons we have been steadily losing more than we gain over the years
this is very good reason why i prefer RP-pvp servers. when i was first looking into other servers besides SSL nearly all of them had people with just ridiculous names left untouched for months |
|
Well it's down to the server's population to report the names, as blizzard say it's not actively policed.
|
|
|
Well, I prefer PvP servers because I enjoy getting into scuffles with members of the opposite faction while levelling.
I also feel that it's not very "realistic" if I can't attack a member of the opposing faction. |

Well...we do have some miniature world pvp from time to time. I mean...
/wave at a hordie to say hello. Then /dance with them. After that they accidently poke you with bash. Wich makes an owl very mad so she /rawr at the hordie and starts moonfire spam. Just for funzorz... At about 50% hp loss from the hordie, the owl calms down and /soothe the hordie. But it was already to late... Even tho she /beg and /cry the hordie was furious. He went all out on cd's and made a /bow as she was slowly dying. /why ? she asked him... He was /disappointed, thought we could be friends. It was you owl who /insult me. I made a mistake by bashing you, it was an accident. But you, your attack wasnt an accident. /farewell my furry friend... I'm /sorry it has to end like this. He made a /bow and sliced the owl into pieces... But other than that, the major city's are ghost towns. The AH is a mess, I rather farm for hours then buy something THAT expensive... Cant find pugs, you're better off with openraid... TB is fun, when you have the right ppl online that is... But the community is great. Even tho its small, the ppl are nice :) |
