Booty Bay

What are your theories on how Booty Bay survived the tidal wave?
I mean look at the goblin statue, its bent and severly damaged revealing a storage of treasure in its chest while Booty Bay received minor damages which are being repaired. |

I literally have no idea, judging from the cinematic. Booty Bay was officially and utterly screwed. But since Blizzard are idiots in some regards. I'm just gonna say that...A wizard did it?

Hmm not sure but i believe i picked up a quest where you were to investigate why it survived with so little damage can't find it on google though.

The cinematic painted the destruction of many regions to be a lot more catastrophic than it actually was, unfortunately. Though it seems that the full extent of planned damage was scrapped during development.

Just did a bit of exploring and noticed that there's a number of ships and debris strewn about in the mountains above Booty Bay. So as the cinematic implied, it was definitely a direct hit - so I can only assume the settlement was largely destroyed and then rebuilt partially (but not completely) by the time we arrive there in the canon timeline.

Impossible, did you see the size of that freakin' tidal wave in the cinematic? Realistically speaking the whole town of Booty Bay should've been under water during Cata, in fact pratically the whole southern coast of stranglethorn. But then again this is blizzard. "Realism" isn't really a word in their vocabulary |

Gobbo stuff is easy to rebuild. Simple as.

Simple, "bootybay-in-a-box" was used to rebuild it :D

Goblin Booty-Bay-In-A-Box, most likely.

Town wide paladin bubble.

That was my thinking as well. Such a ramshackle construction [as most goblin construction in the setting] would be easily destroyed, but similarly easily rebuilt and [almost] repaired. |

Perhaps it has something to do with the Stone of the Tides that you hand to Baron Revilgaz after some quest? It supposedly controls water and summons water elementals... Also, didn't he used to have glowing blue eyes?
