Hey,so as you may have noticed. Blizzard is changing allot of our atacks to scale with Spell power rather then Atack Power. What's the deal ?

Is this because of this talent :

Sword of Light has an additional effect - Your spell power is now equal to 50% of your attack power, and you no longer benefit from other sources of spell power.

Some of the changes are the following :

Seal of Truth now scales from 13.8% of Spell Power instead of 2.8% of Spell Power + 5.6% of Attack Power

Hammer of Wrath now scales from 161% of Spell Power instead of 71.6% of Attack Power

Will the increase of spell power make up for the atack's loosing its scaling with atack power ?

Simple answer: YES

Long answer: This change is a simple mechanik change to help holy for questing. Since 50% of your attack power get converted to spellpower

Holy Paladin does only have spellpower and no attack power. With the change above the attacks their attacks that do holy damage do scale from spell power: that means they simply do more damage and holys are able to quest propertly.

Even more: Your paladin now scales a lot better with buffs: you now benefit from attack power buffs AND spell power buffs.

Hmm, does that include things like the 10% spellpower buffs? Or +spelldamage buffs?

I always though it just meant you don't benefit from +SP on weapons, so that prot wouldnt end up using caster mainhands again, like we did in TBC.

I'd say it does. You end up benefitting from AP buffs either way.

As things are, it seems like a worthwhile simplification.
