Being a sub rogue , backstab is fairly crucial to me so i can dps but when it comes to ultraxion i simply cannot stand behind him meaning i am useless. No i dont want to respec Combat either... Just wonderd other sub rogues views on the matter

Use parachute cloak + nitro boosts...

And why not ? what is dual spec for ?

sub pvp os and i dont want to keep changeing my sub pvp spec for assas everytime i do DS

Hemo spammage does decent damage.

which is what i am doing but was just stateing the fact i can backstab ultraxion :) , hopefully blizzard see this and change it ....hopefully...

specc change is cheap and takes 2 minutes... as a raider you shouldn't have a problem with respeccing tbh :p

I think you get bonusses for the bosses (madness too) where you can't backstab, as my rogue actually does equally well or sometimes even better on bosses that she cannot backstab.

I'm very sure I would do half that damage if I didn't get a bonus. It still is boring though, spamming one button and a second once in a while. I really get the feeling I cannot play sub for real in DS.

I hope they consider this for the future, as poofing behind your target + backstabby hits is just what a rogue is about. Sub is a fun raiding spec (and very good too) just not so fun in DS. Also, try to use vanish for some extra damage when you get aoe damage 24/7 /babycry (ultraxion).

yet i do not see you complaining that frost mages cannot do PvE or that 2h frost dks are useless.

The fact you do use 2nd spec for PvP which you unlikely even do, then it is your raid-mind-set issue not Blizzard issue. In ideal I would (as tank) have to respec 3 times during DS, but i am looking ways round or accept that there are some fights, where I am not best of the best suited unless I respec. And as dps it does not change either also it is quite common for i.e. mages have 2 PvE specs, or warlocks and they do not find it odd.

You, sir, are just lazy.

ok, I opened your armoury. You do only LFR, in this case you can as well use your PvP sub spec for the raid and use other spec as combat. You wouldn't notice any difference anyway.

Your still missing the point , backstab doesnt work against ultraxion is the issue

What can't you backstab on madness? Works fine for me!

I find it irritating on Ultra too. It's not so much the dps loss (sub isn't all that bad even attacking from the front), it's not being able to use your cooldowns. I'd be perfectly happy to spam hemo, but I miss shadow dance and vanish. Getting to use openers all fight is part of the whole sub rogue 'flavour' for me.

It's especially annoying because apparently you could use backstab and shred with zero issues on the PTR, it's something they changed later on for some reason.

It is one fight. You have the option to respec. It is your desicion not to respec. Don't you think many priests would love to have a shadow spec when they had to go holy/disc? Or a tank also wanting to have a pvp spec but has to be dps since it's the OT? There are fights that favour arcane over fire mages and vice versa, so they respec. Where's their pvp spec option?

It's your priorities. Not Blizz's. That you want to have two pvp specs is not something they should balance an encounter after.

If it had affected your whole rotation in a role as it does ferals, mjeh, I'd be inclined to have more sympathy perhaps. Many ferals go resto or boomkin for that fight because they optimize their performance that way instead of demanding a fix. But you can change to another dps spec and perform well.

If you want a lore reason, Ultraxion is really powerful; he's like the moon, you can't easily see his backside.

People that rage over positional for Ultraxion fall into 2 categories:
1: People that started playing AFTER Ulduar..
2: People who raided Ulduar, but "forgot" Blizzard's response to Kologarn.

Blizzard's official answer: Until we do a complete instance full of Kologarn-style (substitute with Ultraxion, at will) fights, we'll not do anything about positional requirement..

most other Rogues respeced, if u cba to do that then its your own problem.
