RP Hubs
|
I'm considering moving my main character from Ravenholdt to Argent Dawn because, quite honestly, the RP is nowhere to be found on the former, but am hoping to get a feel for the RP community on Argent Dawn before forking out the money for a transfer.
I have rolled a low-level alt on the server to have a snoop around prior to transferring, but was wondering if anyone could tell me the best RP hubs on the server to check out? I play Alliance on my main and intend to RP with that character, but will happily roll a Horde alt and check out the Horde hubs too. |

Stormwind - except for trade district.
Ashenvale - Astranaar Duskwood - Darkshire Those are the only "hubs" i have seen with a consistent pressence of roleplayers. (leaving out Goldshire since that is one big mess. In my opinion) |

There's also a community in Darnassus and one in Lakeshire apparently. Hearthglen has some activity with the Argent Guilds and then there's activity in Gilneas I hear but it must be hard to get to considering the lack of flight points but I imagine there must be mage portals involved.

Zangarmarsh also. I'm there. It's my zone. I own it. You can come if you like, but you best check with me beforehand.

I don't need your approval, sister! I'll go where I like, and you'll deal with it! |

Horde active ''hubs'' are:
- Undercity (Ruins of Lordaeron, Apothecarium, other places): Forsaken, Death Knights associated/serving the Banshee Queen, various Undead characters. - Orgrimmar (Valley of Honour): Orcs, Trolls, Tauren, few Undead characters associated with Horde military guilds, Blood Elves associated with Horde military guilds or as short term visitors for business/diplomacy. - Silvermoon City (Royal Exchange, Farstrider Square, Court of the Sun, Sunfury Spire, Murder Row): Blood Elves, rare visitor from other races on business. Note: the Bazaar has gained bad reputation over time due to questionable characters. Use caution when trying to RP in that area and good judgement when interacting with others. Horde RP is far more guild oriented outside of events and for the most part the majority of guilds are always doing something outside of city walls. Depends on the time. Neutral RP ''hubs'' are: - Western Plaguelands (Hearthglen): Argent Crusaders and a few Ebon Blade Knights, Horde and Alliance characters and guilds that are friendly towards neutral organisations or are in favour of peace and co-operation. - Eastern Plaguelands (Any Argent Crusade tower, Light's Hope Chappel): Argent Crusaders and a few Ebon Blade Knights, Horde and Alliance characters and guilds that are friendly towards neutral organisations or are in favour of peace and co-operation.*copy/paste ftw!* - The Necropolis of Acherus: Death Knights only. It is not a very active location and mostly used by DK RPers on demand to host events, cross faction RP, or as a recruitment place by DK guilds. Rare to find RP there, but it happens! I know I've forgotten a few places, so the above are in short what I'm most familiar with. |

You can remove that "New Hearthglen" signpost from the Steamvault and report to Old Hearthglen now, you. |

And, of course, once the wounded and tired heroes [villains!] return from the Eastern Kingdoms, you'll find more and more trolls once again at Sen'jin and the Echo Isles. Oh, and there's the Booty Bay effort mentioned above, oh, and...
Hm. Regular Introductory Role-playing Events in http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/859137676 [among the stickies in this forum] might help as well. Really, there are LOTS of "hubs," for a host of different themes. |

You are likely to be warned of particular places and people on the realm, however you must bare in mind that it is you who determines what is best for you. Try both sides of the server to get a feel which suits you the most. Unfortunately there really isn't many hubs around the world in general.

I've always wanted to see a hub started around Valgarde or Westguard Keep in Northrend, or Highbank in the Twilight Highlands. Such beautiful Alliance towns left to waste in favour of, frankly, some rather ugly and boring locations.

This. I tried, but but was unable to get enough people to RP with us in Westguard. More Northrend based guilds please. |
The majority of RPers hypo ventilate at the prospect of leaving locations that aren't swimming with other players. Sure, the odd person might try it, go there for a minutes and sit in total silence expecting people to wait on their roleplay needs hand and foot lest they bugger off back to the Cathedral and complain "it's boring". |

I brought my guild there though, we did not wait for RPers to magically show up at the entrance, instead we focused on spreading the word. |

I don't think Stormwind Cath RP is an accurate way of judging AD RP, in all honesty. You should ask if you can tag along with a guild event or something. Head up North and see some Borderlands campaign action.
|
See, I'm all for an initiative to drive some of the roleplay up there. There's plenty of reasons for Alliance and Horde guilds to set up shop in Northrend; territory, resources, etc. There's no reason why the war between the two should be confined to Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. |
