Where's the conflict in MoP? (Also Anduin)
|
I hate to react before we have proof of this but...
Blizzard really have not paid attention to the whole: "Stop making Alliance characters neutral!" outcry, have they? |
Redemptioner, I'm not even Alliance and I'm annoyed with this developement. Afterall while we got to fight the Alliance in our Pandaria introduction once we hit Pandaria there a very few quests where we actively fight the Alliance. Well it's still more then you guys get, but nowhere near "full scale warfare" as we were told would be happening. I do not see the point either, if their was some good plot reason or the alliane truly EXOLODED with rage at the horde then fine, but with Thralls reutrn and Metzens quote that the war ends at the end of MOP because apparently both sides realize they will destroy each other... I've managed the first one just fine since Wrath, but the second one is getting tricky... I know how you feel, I am a guy who loves lore inh is games and will take the time to learn the background to enjoy the immersion when I want to relax and enjoy a story but while I like wows gameplay the lore which is something I used to be very attracted to, has been gutted. And with no point/plot/purpose in lore I am getting restless with wow to be honest. People should always be skeptical no matter what. Well when a game delivers previously and I do not like the early signs then I will happily wait and see, when a game does not deliver but has in the past I understand no one is perfect and can forgive, but this is multiple times in a row, they are actively ignoring us while stating they owe us and understand the complaints, and a company that ignores peoples constructive critism is a company that looses subscribers.
All the more annoying as the horde capture that little sue Anduin and the general swears if Anduin keeps talking he will kill him, I kind of hope he gets killed off as he is an annoying brat but apparently despite his ordeal and the horde party killing his rescuers who try to save hm he is neutral. Geez every alliance leader is an incompetant. do nothing. heartless. traitor! Come on blizz turn this around. |

There's certainly a serious lack of understanding going on. Any feedback we attempt to give Blizzard has to pass through person after person until it maybe reaches the right people (And in our case, it has to go to another continent entirely), by which time the original message has more than likely been utterly destroyed by Chinese Whispers. There also seems to be a line dividing CDev and GDev where they shouldn't be.

I hate to react before we have proof of this but... http://www.wowpedia.org/Anduin_Wrynn "His journey will eventually take him to Krasarang Wilds, where he is a neutral quest giver involved in the defense of Temple of the Red Crane from the Sha of Despair and his lesser minions." I know, not the most reliable source. |

See, if I was an optimist I would hope they ramp Anduin up to be this grit-your-teeth annoying pacifist !@#$ for the Alliance and a "Maybe the Alliance ain't so bad?" type for the Horde. Then Garrosh cuts him in two, subverting their usual 'Lawful Good always survives and is right' trope then que the hilarity.
That is if I was optimist. In reality Varian will RAWRSMASHANGRY about burning Orgrimmar to the ground, then Anduin will moan a bit (again), run off (again), Varian will guilt trip (again), listen to his sons advice and calm himself (again) then give a speech about let and let live before killing Garrosh and letting the Horde get away with his crimes. Then Velen and Anduin will go neutral. The end. |
http://www.wowpedia.org/Anduin_Wrynn" Anduin realises the Sha are a powerful threat to the people of this land as well as both sides. He may not be neutral afterwards, but until the job is done, he will ask for help to get rid of the Sha to help both the two warring sides from succumbing to despair and the local Pandaren. He sees the greater threat, and so calls upon both sides to help. Darkspear with the Zandalari uprising, anybody? |

http://www.wowpedia.org/Anduin_Wrynn" The problem is that blizzard has so far shown us that they can't pull off neutrality out of necessity. They either show it as the faction has completely forgotten about your factions previous sins for no reason (Cenarion), they have some resentments but quickly over comes it after you've done a trivial quest (red dragonflight) or they go back an forth between being best buddies and hated enemies (Thrall). If Andiun showed that he clearly didn't trust the horde and that he'd rather not work with them, but that he feels forced to do so, then I would wholeheartedly agree with you. Sadly Anduin has taken the "they are not so different from us and we should all just be friends" stance according to the other thread about him. |
Which seems to annoy posters most because he just got kidnapped and nearly executed by the horde who then killed a bunch of alliance trying to rescue him and destroyed Theramore which i meant to be the sign that the alliance are shocked and outraged. If they showed the shock and outrage I would be quite content to be honest, though to be honest we did not work together in the case of Deathwing as we were actively engaging in full scale war with the other faction, so I question how dangerous these Sha can be. |

I wonder what would happen if Anduin was beheaded after trying to make peace. Why is he even trying after what happened to Theramore anyway?
