Hate on Hunters?
|
Because they do tend to attract the opposite of what you said, the 'Wrong Player' How often have you seen the hunter open up with 2 multi-shots without using Misdirection and parties almost wipe as the tank tries to pick up the chaos that ensues.
I was on an alt yesterday doing Throne of Tides and the Hunter when questioned why he did use MD, asked what is was? |

@Berylburton. And there's the tanks that complain when a hunter uses MD because they can't keep "threat" lol xD
But yeah, Hunters are a very popular class, so we have both good players and bad players. Just the way it is. |

I almost always hate hunters when I do some randoms with my warrior tank. Spamming multishot whitout MD even before I hit charge button, and, pet growl? Annoying.
But I hate shamans and druids too with their f*****g knockback, but the worst is dk's army. I remember a dk who used army at Karsh boss in BRC hc, I was kiting him in the middle, this dk used army and all the ghouls kept him taunting in the middle. All dead. Unforgettable |

Unless i run with my guild main tank who i know can maintank threat, I'd rather start with explosive trap/Misdirect or wait for him to pick the adds up.
It's easy to get triggerhappy. And well, the hunter class attracts alot of new players, I believe it's because they are a fairly easy class to learn the ropes and such As Velentha said, We have both good and lesser good players. Unfortunately the lesser good ones are more represented than the good ones. |

Hate on hunters you ask? because it's the noobs class by excellence

goes back to vanilla hunter could wear almost everything and often enough there was trouble.
the pets are the other thing, pets sometimes do stupid things if you dont pay attention. Its not always the hunters fault but you must be aware of what your pet is doing all the time. the third thing is hunters in generally are not soo difficult to play for a decent amount of damage. So its often an ok choice for the not so good players. Hunters often tend to pull things because they have misdirect. Well..yes we have misdirect but that doesnt mean its always ok to pull. If I'm tanking (with my warrior or my paladin) I have a plan how to begin and how I want to tank the next boss or group of mobs. So I can act. If the Hunter misdirects to the tank, he must react and pick up the pieces. Which isnt always funny if the group consists of a few melees and a few ranged -> after a few pulls you truly can say the tank has and is aggro. Last but not least hunters often stay away if you have to group up on a boss. for example yor'sahj. often they dont know or dont care that there is no minrange for this boss. they do what they normally do and this is stay away. so they take a ****load of dmg especially if you have a combination with yellow and red together. |

I get some, but usually because I have a generally poor attitude sometimes, rather than my class, that's just something people pick at when they're out of arguments :D

I don't get any bother, but then i make sure i don't mess up.

Another reason: There it is hunters in party the chanse to see loot get ninjaed raise with 300%. Nothing wrong with the class but seems like attract pepole that should not involved in taskes that need cooperation/interactions that involves other then their pet.

Them feral druids.. ruin my life taking my leather.
|

There you go a 85 hunter still needing on leather.

Dont blame the class, blame the player behind it. Been playing since vanilla and learning from every fight how to maximise my performance. But just on raid boss fights. If something goes wrong I hit the panic butten after pet dies and group dies.
Get up and use mass ress. |

I been running my warrior tank with my friend for a bit and during the start, nearly every bad encounter in dungeons was either hunters or warlocks.
Never using the right pets for the dungeon. Forgetting to turn growl off, needing on gear they don't need, mainly str stam gear. Even up in higher levels I come across idiots who don't know what they are doing. You should always keep a cat and a wolf, (Devilsaur or sb for bm) You will probably need one of these two. Not your bloody crab. And when you try to give them advice, turn off growl, trap the caster that isn't in my thunderstomp/cleve range, use md when multishotting before I get there, use the right pet. They go ape!@#$! |

from what I've heard and experienced it's the Texas Hold'em of classes... easy to learn, hard to master.
main reason for rolling this particular hunter was trying to prove people wrong: hunters CAN behave and do well in dungeons and teamplay, but it's very very hard trying to do so :) When on my healing classes (both high and low lvls) I do tend to worry whenever a hunter joins the group, it just smells like trouble :P |
