Prince Anduin a neutral quest giver? You must be kidding
|
I've read this thread from beginning 'till end:
I have single thing for Herbert - You are saying that your "subjective opinion" is just as valuable and valid as opinion of hers - which is true, but that's not how community/society works, so unless you can provide actual reasoning for your opinion and it's better than current opinion of majority do not expect them to call you anything else but idiot or ignorant and to completely disregard your opinion - you can't just disregard Korae's opinion because unfortunately that'a what majority thinks so you're saying that their opinion is unimportant (based on how society/community in general works) they will do what they are doing because you're a minority, at best. Anyway, on to the Anduin part - I have a feeling that Anduin is planned to be Arthas v2 but with just a bit different plot - he reminds me awful lot of Arthas in his human years, although i cannot put my finger on as to why. And I agree that Metzen is way too biased towards Horde and portrays it as the "ALMIGHTY LEGION THAT WILL RULE DA WORLD" while showing Alliance that they are completely incompetent and useless "good guys" |
Which bit did I lose you on? I can try to explain if you want? |

Sadly Korae considering the Cataclysms lore I have to disagree, I apologise.
Suply lines and powerful armed presence of alliance in Hillsbrad? Pocket nukes and surprise blight attacks of course! The Dragonsoul stipulated to not be able to be used against Deathwing in lore? Meh pour more power of the other aspects in it. Reason the alliance fail in all of their battles and stil cling to morality and mercy towards an enemy that always abuses it and does. not. deserve. it? They will go all out in MOP of course and they were just holding back... as their kin and allies are slaughtered (makes alliance sound heartless) and so on, technology is used to handwave most things and is always used in Blizzards attempt to make their plot make sence by ignoring previously stated lore and character development. Illidan is an anti hero who many people think he had some valid point? Many people think neutrality is stupid and makes no sence? Blizzard make Illidan the big bad of an expansion and only admit later that they made a mistake and state they will deal with the neutrality lore complaints later. If they actually thought about it and considered the consequences of stripping the alliance of anything unique then they would not ahve this on their hands, honestly. Like I still cannot beleive after swearing to safeguard the human holdouts in Vanilla and fighting a vicious series of battles with the Forsaken that the kirin TOr went neutral and are stated to not want to go to alliance meetings as not to compromise their neutral posistion. Seriosuly when alliance go neutral they pretty much give the other alliance forces the finger and laugh as their allies who helped them out previously are decimated by thehorde, but then of course if the reason is the alliance are holding back or are incompetant at waging war, then screw it the alliance deserves to be destroyed. So as for this long discussion of horde fortresses popping up? No need to waste breath, you think the writters considered the merits of putting a horde fortress on the sandy beach in Ashenvale? lol no Because Cataclysm was half finished, the alliance got content cut and to explain it all instead of saying "we are sorry we released it and ran out of time" they decide to dig deeper and insist the lore is meant to be where it is. |

Kind of ironic that humans as endangered as they are in Warcraft going to the continent of the panda people.
But you know the old saying: extinction loves company. |

Sadly Korae considering the Cataclysms lore I have to disagree, I apologise. I'm confused. What are you disagreeing with? The premise that Fantasy is assumed to hold to base physical laws? It still does, even with all that. It should ALSO be internally consistent, and WoW fails in that, but I don't believe I've ever claimed Cata was good fantasy. Or am I missing something? Most of the discussion about fortresses was because Herbert was insisting it was possible for the horde to do that. This was him trying to counter them being used as evidence of Pro-horde bias. I agree with you entirely that Cata is prohorde being the point of sense. Not..quite sure why that counters "But it's not physically possible, so doesn't excuse the bias". |
