More Zombie Events
|
|
few years back there were a zombie event, where people would raid the major cities and infect the guards and they would infect more and so on.
Why no more of theese events? No doubt the best event ever, beats any darkmoon, brewfest etc events.. |

That was the WotLK opening event, and there was a similar thing going on in Vanilla when the original Naxxramas launched. Every expansion has had their own opening events a few weeks before release, you remember the elemental invasion & twilight's cult thing just before Cataclysm launch? There will most likely be another big event before Mists of Pandaria comes out. I haven't really done my homework about the expansion, so I have no idea if there's any information about the pre-MoP event, but chances are it'll be another funfest with a few questlines, perhaps a couple of dailys and one-time rewards.
To answer your question, there won't probably be any more scourge-themed events going on. It was fitting when Naxxramas came out, and even more fitting when Wrath of the Lich King launched, but now the Lich King is dead (or well, contained) so that's pretty much it for the Scourge. TBC had demons, WotLK had undead, Cata had elementals, so I'm actually kinda curious what's gonna happen this time. My two cents; it's probably something related to the war between Horde and Alliance, and the destruction of Theramore. |

The destruction of Theramore and the Scenario style events that make it up is the Pre-MoP world event.
And i apologise if i am wrong here, but i am sure a blue a while ago said something about not wanting to shutdown main cities like they did in previous world events. So that may be a nail in the coffin of big events like zombie/elemental invasion. |

Elemental invasion was a huge disappointment imo. And the zombie event was without doubt the most fun I have ever had on this game.
But due to all the rage and QQ, you won't ever see something like that again. |

I missed that... :( But it sounds freakin' epic.
Nothing more boring that sitting around in Og for 5 hours a day |
|
|
Oh god, that event was horrible for anyone trying to do anything else in the game then being an explosive zombie.
If you were on a lower level char, it was hell. The horror |
|
|
It was one of the most fun things in WoW's history imo!
But sadly, some people started crying that they messed up their game experience when leveling >.> |

zombie event was fun for like 1-2 days tops. after that it was just annoyance because there wasn't enything else to do when battlemasters, auctioneers, guards, players and bankers were all turned into zombies and killed.

I miss that SOOO much. It might have been the hype of being able to finally play a DK but that was, without a doubt the most fun world event I've ever seen.
I wish they'd do it at least once a month, for a day, hell for an hour even. |

It was by far the most fun I've had in wow for the short times it happened, along with AQ opening stuff...maybe I'm a masochist, but ...BRAINSSSSSSS.......

What would be swell is if they could make it a 'once in a year for a week' event, maybe even in-between the weeks that WotLK actually launched!
(It would even give them a chance to put old things back in, a Zombiefest meta that rewards the Plagued Proto-drake, one of the requirements being: Infect 100,000 players etc. etc., make it hard but do-able and people will eventually start to love the events while the Plagued Protodrake for example still retains it's special feeling). |

They could have handled the Zombie invasion a lot better by simply putting in some measures to protect those player who would rather not take part and just play game the way they wanted to. This would not have impacted those who wanted to have fun being a zombie, and those who didn't want to get forced into the event would have also been happy which all round would have meant the event would not have been pulled early.

They could use phasing and a starting NPC. Peeps who don't want it wont even see it happening.
I love big events like that. Wow should have lots of them. It helps break things up and adds that little something extra. |
