So, I was browsing on a saturday morning as per usual, when I came across an interesting Blue Post. (I actually found it on MMO-Champion).
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/4850775205?page=4#64 It concerns thrall, here we go: Erm...He's going back to being warchief of the horde. Which apparently isn't supposed to bother all the alliance that have been working with him for the last few years. Then, a blue posts: I know what was said during the press tour, but don't be so sure yet that you know who the next warchief will be. The information provided during the press tour was... not entirely accurate. This then begs the question, who will be? I've drafted up some possibilities. -General Nazgrim, I love this fellow, and he's getting some more involvement in Mists of Pandaria. He's one of the first to make land in the Jade Forest and is your commander there. He's proven to be a capable leader in battle, although is it enough to be Warchief? -Overlord Saurfang, a good ol' long standing and prominent figure of the horde. We've seen him from the early days of WoW and he's has some huge involvement (Icecrown, Wrathgate, Northrend assault, yada yada.) He's one of my tops to become Warchief, however he's getting on in his years which could be stopping him from rising to the mantle. -Zaela Dragonmaw, proven to be a capable war leader and tough girl, Zaela was the major involvement in the Highlands assault. Proving herself to both Garrosh and the Horde, she's no doubt capable although new to the Horde. -Vol'jin, Love this guy, too. He's a wise and powerful commander, heading the Darkspear tribe for many years. He's possibly more suited to the mantle than any of the above, however would the Horde really allow a Troll to command the previously Orcish Horde? -Rexxar, Champion of the Horde. This guy hasn't been seen in a while, if we're to stick to where he is in game, he's in Blade's Edge Mountain, chilling with the orcs there. He's a capable leader also, as proven in the Warcraft 3 campaign based around him, although as aforementioned - hasn't been seen in recent expansions. -Baine Bloodhoof, the newly appointed High Chieftain of the Tauren hasn't really had much limelight after his father's death. He's still possible I suppose, although personally I'd say it's unlikely. -Some generic orc fellow? Who knows, some random Orc might appear from somewhere. Maybe an estranged son or daughter of Thrall or Grom, who knows? -Thrall's offspring. (Gasp) We're all dreading it, although knowing Blizzard's never ending love for Thrall, it could well be his child rises to the mantle of Warchief. That'd be awkward. Feel free to slate my ideas above, and add your own, if you like. Peace out. |
no :(
Oh thank god there's still hope I'd like Vol'jin to be the Warchief. Having the Horde led by someone other than an orc could be interesting, and he definitely seems right for the task! |
Vol'jin deserves is, he's wise and strong.
Like Hamuul always says: "Always temper your strength with wisdom". |
Zaela, kárgoth, rexxar or nazgrim.
A thousand times, Zaela.
She might be new now, but give her some stuff to do in MoP and she'll be easily as qualified as Garrosh was by the time the last patch rolls around. |
I doubt Vol'jin will ever be Warchief of the Horde. I really don't think the orcs would allow that.
The Darksprear trolls are only a relatively small tribe in comparison, and the only tribe actually part of the horde. The new Warchief would definitely be an Orc. I vote Saurfang <3 |
Oh god, maybe then all this nonesense of Orcs being mean to Trolls who have very long memories will stop.
Then again, we have very long memories... So consequences /could/ happen. ;) |
As much I'd love to have Vol'jin, I tend to agree that Ol'
Saurfang as the leader would cause less internal conflict inside the Horde. But god damnet if Vol'jin aint the one to deliver the final blow(Note: Black arrow for his heart) to Garrosh I'll be a saaad panda. |

Considering Camp Leader/Legionnaire/General Nazgrim is now in 3 expansions leading quests for entire zones, if it's not Thrall then it's probably that guy.
To be honest though, I wish Blizzard had kept Cairne alive. He would've been a great warchief in my opinion. (Not the WoW version of Cairne, just for yer info.)
... then Thrall is. >_> |
Oh yes, put a month year old kid to control half of the world. Brilliant! SO VERY BRILLIANT! Guys, unless MoP is ~20-30 years in the future, Thrall's kid will most likely not be warchief. |
I'd like Vol'jin but I think it'll be Saurfang.

So, I was browsing on a saturday morning as per usual, when I came across an interesting Blue Post. (I actually found it on MMO-Champion). You have disregarded the champion of the Horde and one of the old time favorites from WC3. Rexxar..he has been away too long..Apart from Thrall i dought there is another orc(even if he is half ogre) that cares about the Hordes well being..and i am sure Thrall would vouch for him. I imagine of a scenario where Thrall cannot take the mantle because he is Supershaman now and tries to bring back Saurfang from his exile.Saurfang refuses and Rexxar steps up to the task. Oh..worst case scenario..The Banshee !@#$% becomes the Hordes new Warchief D: |

You have disregarded the champion of the Horde and one of the old time favorites from WC3. My apologies, I didn't as you so delightfully put it; 'disregard' him. I forgot, adding him now. I have to wonder whether Rexxar will be warchief - we haven't seen him for a good couple of expansions, for him to suddenly pop out of the blue would be most curious, no? Also, a half ogre as well. Adding him onto the list, regardless! Oh yes, put a month year old kid to control half of the world. Brilliant! SO VERY BRILLIANT! I expect that there will be a time gap in between the expansions, as well as patches. I know it's unlikely, but I'm sure the developers that love Thrall would want it. |

I prefur garrosh, at least he has balls.

-General Nazgrim, I love this fellow, and he's getting some more involvement in Mists of Pandaria. He's one of the first to make land in the Jade Forest and is your commander there. He's proven to be a capable leader in battle, although is it enough to be Warchief? After what I have seen in the beta quest lines, they are building up Nazgrim just like they did with Garrosh in WOTLK before he came Warchief. I will place my money on Nazgrim. |

Saurfang, just so that people will preach about how amazing Blizzard is for shoving another forced meme down our throats. It's a good character nonetheless. I think he'd make a good candidate, to be honest. Just look at this: "I am he who watches they. I am the fist of retribution. That which does quell the recalcitrant. Dare you defy the Warchief? Dare you face my merciless judgement?" That's not the product of a meme. That's the product of a warchief in the making. I think it's really been building up to that for a few years now. His consistently important roles in various conflict can't be for naught, is my point. Then again, some would say he's more designed to follow than to lead. If not him, Vol'jin or a female, in my opinion. The latter would be a really in your face-way of representing the orcish Horde's ancient gender equality.
Sorry, he's just not his father. He might grow into Cairne Bloodhoof's totems, though, just as Cairne undoubtedly did before him. |
