Suggestion: Canonical Story Timeline

This is something Blizzard needs to address.
I'm looking at you lore team. I'm an avid roleplayer, recently my guild and community have been asking questions and discussing the timeline of events. Currently, everyone has different sources and unofficial time lines but there is nothing clear. People can only guess how long Orc's have been on Azeroth, How far in the past the first opening of the Dark Portal was. When Stormwind was sacked, When Thrall was born. So many questions unanswerable because we don't have a Blizzard made timeline showing when these important events in lore actually took place. I'm starting to feel like this is becoming a serious matter. Far too much has happened in such a short time people are becoming confused about what happened when. Is requesting a timeline of events in the Warcraft universe, certified as canon by Blizzard, too much to ask? tl;dr isn't it about time we had a canonical official timeline of story events from Blizzard. Edited the title to something more appropriate. |

I fully support the notion of an updated timeline. Come on blizzard you used to update it with every expansion in the past so it wouldn't be that hard to put one on the site.

An updated timeline would be loved by me, because of the bronze dragonflights alterations and the crappy books of the war of the ancients retconing and rewriting the event (then hints that the old timeline still may be in effect in cataclysm and the bronze dragonflight are meant to maintain the one true timeline, and Nozzy being destined to be currupted bringing into question the whole changes were fine)
Where would it be posted though, on the website or a book of lore? |

Definitely on the website. If it's a book, then it'll be outdated the next time they retcon anything.

Why can't WoW just have an actual calendar anyway?
Lots of other fantasy universes got one! |
