Hi,

Farming Bloodsail Buccaneers rep, which is less than boring :p

I'm at Faldir's Cove and basically have a macro that targets and icelances when I press F. Got the camera zoomed right in and basically have the snooker on the tv and press F when Shakes O'Breen respawns, about every 8 seconds.

Is it against the rules if I use a program that simply pressed F every 5 or so seconds? I'm not moving and only killing the one mob?

that's called botting my friend and botting is against the rues regardless of how trivial it is.

Not my definition of botting. Crack on Meckina.

Botting in blizzards eyes = bannable.

For example: If you make a macro so that it presses space and makes your character jump every 30 sec (used in Bgs by bots) that's against rules.

That is not botting. He still has to press the button, it's an ingame macro. So yes, that is allowed.

Oh, using a program to press F obviously is not allowed.

Agreed, but I meant a program/addon that would press the F key for me. Looks like it's not allowed. I'll carry on the way I am.

As long as you are pressing the button, no problem at all. If there is any automated keypressing... i.e. a program pressing the macro key on a timer, thats automation and then it's a different matter altogether

If I angle the monitor just right, I get the respawn of the mob in the corner of my eye and can still watch the tv.

I might get the dreaded condition "grind finger" though

I thought of it to, but seems as the best option if the OP doesn't want to sit and press F all the time.

Also, a smart idea if you have a little sister/brother to hire them to press the button for you.

Hehe, I like your thinking!

Build a device outside of the computer that physically presses the button and you're safe!

You can always be creative.
Find/Buy an RC Steering Servo, and make a small clever device that slams the desired button for you:P

Just done a quick calculation. It'll take (assuming I hit the target as it spawns) 15.6 hours to get the 36k up from hated.

This has been done before, the issue with it is that a device generally taps it exactly on time.. i.e. every 8 seconds on the dot... this can get picked up by the game. One was caught using something exactly like this a few years ago as I recall.
