Looking for Feral Tutor
|
I am looking for a feral tanking tutor as I find people saying things like: "tank you suck" or "WTF TANK!!!!" all too often. I don't know if it is them just being morons or me actually being bad so i decided to ask someone in the forums if you can tutor me!, either message me in-game or leave a reply and ill get in touch!

You get that a lot at the level you are now, mostly from heirloomed dps who suck themselves.

I'm happy to have a chat if you want, just catch me in game sometime (or mail me and we can sort real id or something). But as namari said, people in low level dungeons say that sort of thing quite a bit as tanks are an easy target to blame.

Granted for high-end raiding, but you can read the basics and work out your own rotation based on it. Basically, if you have aggro on everything, you don't suck. And as an addendum to that, if people pull aggro of you, because they are hitting the wrong targets, you still don't suck. Just learn to retarget and taunt and/or mangle quickly. :) |

I don't mind helping you out.
Not sure if I am the best tank in the world, but I am sure I could help you with certain aspects of tanking. Feel free to contact me in-game, will probably only be online Sunday or Monday after 7pm ST though. |

If you are actually doing something wrong, then at your lvl I suspect it's aoe threat issues. Swipe is enough to get aggro off the healer, but any dps can burst through it. If this is indeed the case, the tips I can give are:
1) Always keep an eye on your party frames. A yellow glow means they have high threat and will probably overaggro soon. Select their target, and hit it with a mangle. A red glow means something is attacking them, basically you missed something! Figure out which mob you lost and taunt it. 2) Switch targets a lot, mangle and maul are your main threat builders, you basically want to hit each mob at least once with them. The other option is to mark a main target which you'll focus on first, but people tend to ignore that nowadays (some classes will purposely avoid main kill targets so that their dots run longer, others just aoe.) 3) Keep an eye on party chat, warnings like "aggro!" and "patrol!" are directed at you, so you can react faster. Hope this helps. |
