tried destro pvp spec and liked it , but perfered affliction for the fear you can do ,
but the lock in pvp is all about perserveriance , who you have low resiliance you are basically mince meat , but get some decent resiliance and you have the last laugh. |

destruction is best pvp spec, and allways be, that's my opinion!!11!

every warlock class is very viable, as affliction you own the living !@#$ out of everyother casters, and some hunters ans destro you own casters very well and you got some anti mele utility, as demo you own all mele and some rogues depending on your timing, and some casters to.
it all depends on how you choose to play all speccs are very much viable. i like to play destro and affliction pvp and demo pve |

Not to be negative and all, but the glyphs they use are very intriguing. Svalur seems to keep affliction major and minor glyphs, while Dreschnuu has a glyph of Soulstone. So it leaves me a bit skeptical. Also, why would he go for such a glass-canon build without an imp? And how does he not get two shot by melee-cleaves? Anyways, maybe their builds are made for rbg, but it'd be nice to see some streams on their par. Nowadays there aren't many Destruction arena videos, would be nice to see some more. Destruction is viable (hardly), but the main problem is finding partners willing to get to higher ratings when they could just find an affliction lock. I'm currently trying a frost dk/destruction/holy paladin comp, we managed to get to 1855 easily. Will have to see how it turns out later on. |
the weak link there is the frost DK. Cant they go unholy? |

i would say, that in Arena Affliciton is a must. Playing as Destruction means you have to cast spells with longer casttime, wich you dont(mostly) have any time for.
Puting dots on everyone will make it a hell for the other teams healers, when trying to heal himself including two other players. In bg i dont find any spec really good. I would say destruction for 1v1 fights, otherwise affliciton is better. (dont comment my glyphs) . . |

whats a must? I was happy hanging out at 1600 or so rating as destro and getting the gear a bit slower. I also think you can get 2k as destro if you really want and put in some effort, but yea affliction would be better.

In pvp I love the fact that affliction warlocks are slightly underestimated, their damage is normally quite moderate and contains no burst. But if you pop your cooldowns that same dots hit suddenly like a truck, i just love the part where you see enemies going in stress mode ($@#^ what is damaging me so hard) and then deathcoiling them to make them suffer more.

I played Destru on nearly 2,2 mmr a few weks ago, and it wasnt THAT hard. I was on 2161 personal and team rating. Then my Mage leaves the Team, cuz he wanted to do more PvE. I thought he was jokin.
In fact, affliction is a stronger Specc in Arena, yes. But you can reach decent ratings as destro, too. IF you can play that spec. There are a lot of destros I know that reached 2,2 , and one of them is 2,6 + rated. Setups could be : Affli /destro / healshaman or Holypala Hellplay [ Fire mage / Destro / Holypala ] Oldschool mls [ Frost mage / destro / Heal shaman ] |

I play destro for pvp and arena and it is so much fun! however the survivability is a lot lower than affliction so unless you have a healer go affliction. Affliction is pretty easy IMO dots + Haunt + fear + soul drain/drain life kills things pretty quickly IMO, use the glyph of soul swap to spread your dots around as much as possible then if anyones chasing you curse of exhaustion and just run away and let the dots do the work lol xD

Your friend is kind of right. For duels demo is really nice when you have meta. I have killed many over 2k rated players with fully cataclysm gear ^^ |

From my experience I can tell that you shouldn't play Demo or Destro because if a melee-class is around ur not going to be able to cast anything. Affliction doesn't require as much casting really and can move alot more freely!

Destro aint all that bad, team up with some sick bursting class.
Get use to immo - ds - soulburn-soulfire -confla -inci combo and ull get someone from 100 to 0 with ya teammate bursting. The thing is destro is tons more fun then afli, and as destro u actualy got that happy feeling when ya killed smthng, on top of that nether, shadowfury, and shadowburn >> hands down best lock's abilities ever created. |
Just use shadowfury when hes up close and then shadowflame to kite or just use fear. Or you teleport away, or you can use deathcoil. Pick one and you can escape. |

Long time ago the Demo lock was really useful in BG`s. I could even kill rogue or warr without any problems, now there are always Affli because of meele dmg, which Demo cannot withstand but as Affli you will run like Forest and try to avoid any contact with meele

As was said... Destro is good playable in arenas and rbg's.. but it needs skill and high ressi on your side.. also many haste in gear and gems cause noone will let you cast easily.. I personaly changed many partners in arena 2v2 week caping and found two ways.. Skilled frost mage, in that comp you can kill everything.. and Resto sham. These 2 comps suits me the most.. hope ill get higher in rating this week with my resto sham partner

Affliction's strength lies in instant cast DoTs. They are among the strongest damage-per-cast abilities you can find. Both Destruction and Demonology have to rely on cast-time Incinerate / Shadow Bolt spells, which kind of limits their maximum performance.

Disc priests and ele shamans are also viable. I got to 2k with both, however after that it was just full Disc/Feral, which completely obliterates you... |

Affli is the best way to go for PvP, with demo being a close 2nd choice.
Destro is inferior to both affli *and* demo. Both in PvE *and* PvP |
