Just finished watching the miami heat beat the indiana pacer tonight and i thought i would log on for some random battlegrounds.

Had 9 bots in wsg on my team. My fault for playing at 6am ? Surely something has to be done.
Blizz made a start with trying to sue the companys that make the botting software but that does nothing to help eager PVPers enjoy the game in its current state.

Add a captcha can be letter and numbers or a simple sum. At least make these companys spend money trying to bot ur pvp entry system.

But I suspect it's a very very low priority for blizz these bots after all are paying subscribers.

I expect nothing to happen until wow gets some real competition in the mmo market.

I have a solution for this problem, Blizzard should just ban people from using the word "Bot" on these forums.

There is almost no bots in my battlegroups, not even at 6 am ^_^ though the queue time goes up to 4-5m at that time but it's worth it I guess.

That however does not help the bot problem, telling people they can't talk about it anymore on the other hand does!

How does banning people from discussing botting on the forums in anyway help the problem ?
Does'nt it just sweep it under the carpet.

What should we discuss the vibrant pvp encouters engaged in ? Well I can't cos my time is being wasted by cheaters.

Why do we have forums? Ban the forums from a start then. Then us unsatisfied valuable customers cant complain. Good idea Eris. I vote that this topic is getting Sticky.

Me and others have said, just use the external authenticator every time you get reported for being AFK and when you enter a battleground. Much better than capchar that can be cracked instantly. But sadly it wont help much, because many botters let the bot program runs, while they are watching television or picking their nose. If someone says he is cheating, he just say "Im not cheating you noobs , you all noobs". And then he continues to be AFK and cheat. So sadly this idea wont work either.

But better then remove the farming for more points to get the gear, then the cheaters have no reason to farm for points. So yeah gives us a grey pvp suit, like someone proposed, so we can SKIP the random bgs and get on with the real pvp thing, arenas and rbgs. I wont waste a minute more in random bgs if I can play with real people and not against bots.

So lets face it, nothing has been done to get rid of the cheaters to improve the fun doing random battlegrounds. If its not bots then its premade cheating graveyard farmers.

Where is the fun of doing PVP??

But I gues I should just shut my mouth on the forums, because i'am a very satisfied with how the PVP works in WOW? Like you suggested Mister Eris.

We should be mad. It seems as if blizzard are not going to take any action until we start to vote with our wallets.

A very sad state of affairs.

I mostly play pve in this game I'd hate to think how our more pvp orientated players feel towards this issue.

So i got a response from a gm from my ticket.

Gm said i had to use the in game reporting tool by clicking the players portrait.

So basicly i've to the job for him, great.

and in response to Baalie no you won't get banned from the forums for saying that. You'll just get ignored as long as the cash rolls in.

Don't say they have done nothing about it. New report system is something.

They know about the problem and have known about it from late Vanilla/early TBC.

"Say no evil, hear no evil, see no evil". Does it work? How does it work? By banning the word bot, fix the problem? Where were you back in Vanilla? You could have fixed the problem back then...

Well i complained about my first ticket and the 2nd gm i got is taking action and investigating the game i played with 9 bots.

I don't know how it will pan out. You pvp guys seem to be having a hard time of it with some other types of cheating mentioned in other posts.

I know by the start of mop i'll be back being a pve hero but you guys will be stuck with these bots farming honor for the first pvp season in mop shame really.

Something should be done about this for mop maybe we are not making enough noise about it.

Lol. I reported a guy a few weeks ago. I'd actually been grouped with him two games in a row and he would basically start off at spawn, lock on to another player and follow them around mounted. The whole game. When he got killed he would just sit in spawn, and occasionally random cast until another player was ressed, then /follow again.

Halfway through the second game, having being targetted by this leech three times, I'd decided I'd had enough, told the group I was reporting him and right clicked on his portrait to fill in the report. Given Blizzard request you be EXACT with the time and details of the behaviour - guess what happened halfway through my report...

yep...I got kicked for being inactive without warning or notification (that I could see at least, can't recall ever being kicked before so no idea how the function works when you're at the receiving end).

Great system.
