The kick system better be changing in MoP

Seriously, give idiots power and they abuse it. I was doing Well of Eternity HC to try get the Agility Staff which I keep losing out on to people who don't actually need it (but that's another complaint). We get to the second boss and no one else has any idea what they are doing and we wipe twice. I die and don't get a ress and someone says "Why didn't you take the ress" I say "I didn't get one" and 2 seconds later I get kicked.
The idea of other players controlling who gets kicked is archaic. There is nothing stopping 3 people joining as a party then kicking other people so they always win the loot. Plus people always click yes, even if the reason for kicking is "IF YOU SAY NO I'LL GIVE YOU 1000G" |

Except when three people join as a group, they need a fourth yes vote to kick someone. |

A party of 3 can't votekick 1 anymore, they changed that so you need 4 to do so.
Also, why didn't you run in yourself, or take charge of the group? Yeah idiots are bad but you're just as bad if not worse. Run in, it's 15 seconds to do so or less. I hate people that just sit there dead waiting for a mass rez that isn't coming, thus wasting more unnecessary time. |

I did run in, I was kicked once I was inside the dungeon. I hate ress waiters as well. I don't think it needs to be all 4 to vote because there has been times I've said no and the player is still kicked. Sometimes the player is kicked before I even get a chance to vote.
Players having control is only as smart as the players using it, I remember in Rainbow Six Vegas the host had complete control and could kick anyone freely. So if with 5 seconds to go their team was losing they could kick the entire other team and win the game and get the same amount of points as if they had won normally. That's basically what WoW is if you cast a vote everyone just says yes. I've had been there where the healer has gotten kicked (with me voting no) because people were impatient and we ended up in the queue for so long everyone ended up leaving. I'm mostly pissed because I'm locked out of the HC, so now I just have to keep using random HoT until WoE shows up again. |

It can't really be fixed with changes to votekick function. It has to be fixed with changes to playerbase.
Unfortunatelly, Blizzard seems to be perfectly fine with kind of playerbase there is today. And keeps creating content to attract more of such kind. After all, quantity over quality of players = more income. |

It can't really be fixed with changes to votekick function. It has to be fixed with changes to playerbase. I guess, they are just a business after all. You pay £8.99 a month but everything feels like it should be free, even the customer service is terrible. Still it could be worse, Blizzard could merge with Capcom. |
|
If you'd get over the loot greed, you'd see that there isn't as much problems in this game. Play game for fun, not for loot. There's not any loot in this game you NEED to progress further into next level.

It can't really be fixed with changes to votekick function. It has to be fixed with changes to playerbase. Unfortunately, this. But with a terrible community i cannot see the game having a long future tbh. It almost feels like blizz no longer want to run an MMO. Or maybe its activision.
They could merge with EA, now thats a terrifying thought |

I agree this needs to change .. there have been times when I did not want to vote someone out cos it wasnt his/her fault at all and yet before I could hit NO, the poor chap got voted out. |

Can you suggest a better way of working it?
Firstly, you don't really understand how the kick system works (as evidenced by your bad example) Second, its a game where people interact. If the majority of the people who you are interacting with at the time want you out, then you get kicked. It's not a bad system, it just means you were a "victim" of it working as intended. I suspect the vast majority of votekicks have some merit to them, you talking about "I didn't even get a res" sort of alludes to why you got the boot. Anyway, now you have the staff you so craved after, enchant the fricking thing. It will allow you to use your gear to its full potential. Stop fixating on the next shiny bauble and use what you have to its fullest. |

As I said in another thread... If the new RF loot system is also used in DF then you eliminate any motivation for the griefing and loot manipulation you describe. |
You also eliminate any motivation to wait for friends to log on and do instances together. Well, not "any", since you can always say that you enjoy the presence of friends and the comfort of knowing you won't end up in a group with 4 people who don't know how to play. If this went through, here's the situation: Up to Cataclysm - Hey guys, let's form a group the 5 of us and try to get that item I've been hunting. - Ok, let's go. In MoP - Hey guys, let's form a group the 5 of us and try to get that item I've been hunting. - What do you need us for, we now can't all pass so that you earn the item. Go alone. |
