Strange Issues

Hi all. I've been to the trouble lately of building a new computer, as my old rig was outdated - Roughly 5 years old. Having all sorts of problems which, even on my new Machine seems to be a reccuring problem. If you're not interested in the comparison, feel free to skip to what my issue is.. Thought I'd do a bit of an explanation
Here is my old system listing for comparison Manufacturer: Packard Bell Model: iXtreme 8540 Graphics: 512mb Nvidia GeForce 9500GS RAM: 4GB Kingston DDR2 Motherboard: Foxconn (can't remember the model number) CPU: Intel Quad Core Q6600 (4 Cores) (2.44ghz) HDD: 750gb Western Digital OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit World of Warcraft Frame Rates: 40-60 when I'm idle at a Medium Setting. My new Machine - Built by myself, runs like a charm 99% of the time. Cost around £500 Motherboard: ASUS M5A99X-EVO (AM3+) CPU: AMD (AM3+) FX8120 8 Core 3.1ghz, (16MB Cache) RAM: 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 (8GB) Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 560ti (1GB DDR5) HDD: 1.75TB Western Digital OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (Legitimate License Key) World of Warcraft Frame Rates: 55-60 on Ultra Settings, Drops to about 40-45 in DS10 Battlefield 3: High-Ultra Settings at 60 FPS Skyrim (heavily modded): On high settings with 50+ FPS. With World of Warcraft - but is the game capped at a certain number? Regardless of setting, it's only pushing out 60FPS. I know for a fact that my system should be pushing out more frame rates than that. I'm not dissapointed by this because I realise the human eye can only notice frame rates up to about 30-35. But shouldn't my system be putting out much more than that? My Graphics Drivers are fully up to date. Using DirectX11, switched to DX9. Now the main issue - Each time I log into the game, although on my new system it only takes about 5 seconds or so to load in, (down from up to about a minute with my old machine) - There is something really annoying me, where briefly the view distance will drop to zero. So I can only see about 40 yards or so in front of my character before the remaining starts to become "Foggy" if you want.. - In a nutshell, my view distance briefly goes to the lowest. Has anyone else had this issue? Or is something about my settings wrong? Thanks Pulling@Defias |

If you disable V sync in your graphics options that will enable it to go over 60fps, but tbh I would leave it on if you turn it off and your fps is going over 60 you can get screen tearing which can be annoying.
Also sounds like you have your view distance set to low if everything is fogging out that close to you. I would double check your settings just to make sure, if it dose say ultra could be your settings aren't being applied properly, so try right clicking your launcher then run as admin then try changing your settings see if that works. |
