Mo and the Mystery of the Missing Mother...and Marvin.

Hokay. This is an idea i've had for an interesting event. [Alliance RP]
Mozeu walked, correction, staggered back from Kharanos, clearly somewhat drunk. It was a bad habit bought back by recent events, and she'd be damned if she was going to give it up now. Her route home to the GNOME HQ took her on a path around Iceflow lake and Shimmer ridge. Her breath was visible in the air as she tottered up the path, crunching on the frost. She paused, staring at the radiation pools and smoke, which turned the snow a funky green. Mozeu sighed and thought of the deranged leper Gnomes in the depths of Gnomeregan. "Mutant, hysterical freaks." She muttered. Two figures caught her eye. A couple of Dwarves, crouching over something. The inquisitive nature of the Gnomes plus alcohol caused her to stray off the path and wander over. "What're you looking at?" Mo enquires. The Dwarves, obviously brothers, turn to look at her. "Some feckin' huge tracks", the first Dwarf replies, motioning to them. Feckin' huge was an accurate description, for if Mozeu lay down in them, all but her head would be enclosed in the massive footprint. "What made them?" "Damned if Ah know", the first dwarf says, frowning. "A'int anythin' we normally git 'round 'ere anyway." "Bear?" Asks Mozeu, trying to be helpful. "Nae." "Snow leapord?" "Nae." "Wendigo?" "Nae." "Ice Troll?" "Nae." "Trogg?" "Nae." The second Dwarf finally speaks. "Too big fer any o' them, an' besides, look, it's got six feckin' toes." "Maybe it's mutated. From the radiation pools." Suggests Mozeu, gesturing."Don't eat the green snow, eh?" "Whutever it is, it was oan two legs an' movin' slow." The first Dwarf continues. "How can you tell?" "Well, firs', yeh c'n tell by th' pattern o' th' tracks abou' how many legs its go'. An' about th' speed, th' faster yer movin', th' less of th' heel shows, yeh see? When somethin's runnin', it's barely any heel an' deep toes." "Well, if it's something on two legs, that narrows it down. We get troggs, trolls, and leper Gnomes on two legs here. Aswell as normal Gnomes and Dwarves, of course." Says Mozeu thoughtfully. "But that rules out wendigos, since they don't come this side of Kharanos." Dwarf two looks thoughtfull. "Well, Ah know an exception. We were huntin' wendigos, their pelts fetch a great price. Anyway, some Gnome comes teh us, an' says, Ah'd like th' bigges' wendigo yeh c'n find, an' alive. Fairly tall Gnome, 'e was. Brown eyes an' hair. Pale, like. An' nae beard." The dwarf trails off, as if the concept of a male without a beard was alien. Which for a dwarf, is probably true. Something clicked in Mozeu's mind. She remembered talking to...oh, Emily Stormforge... "She was visiting a Gnome in New Tinkertown, I haven't seen her since." Emily had said. "What did she look like?" "He was...pale....brown eyes and hair. Quite tall. I don't suppose you know him?" "I'll keep an eye out" Mo had said, then promptly forgot about it. Dwarf number two was finishing his story. "An' we shipped the feckin' huge matriarch to 'is house, righ' oan th' edge o' New Tinkertown. Light on'y knows whut 'e wanted wi' it." "What was his name?" "Marvin Toxitorque." "Hmm...." The next day, hugely hungover, Mozeu walked through New Tinkertown, peering around from behind her goggles. There was movement behind her, and she turned around. "H-hello Missus Mozeu. You p-probably don't know me, but my name is J-Jarvi. Jarvi Shadowstep." He said, with a seedy smile. "Oh, JUST the man I was looking for!" Mozeu trilled, grinning inwardly. "Cindy has mentioned you, of course." "St-Steamsprocket? She has? You were?" He said, looking hopeful. Well, it was true, Mozeu was looking for someone who could get her information, and Cindy -had- mentioned him, even if it was only to complain about how pervy he was. "Uh-huh. I was looking for some information on one....Marvin Toxitorque. Would you be so kind as to help?" Jarvi looked shifty. "Well....what would I get from it? A k-" Mozeu cut him off, quickly. "I'll give you Cindy Steamsprocket's address, but you didn't hear it from me." Jarvi dashed off. Mozeu grinned. Several minutes later, he returned. "He lived on the outskirts of New Tinkertown" he said, handing Mozeu a piece of paper. "Lived?" "Y-yes...he recently upped and left for Northrend. His parents were trapped in Gnomeregan when it fell, and S.A.F.E operatives have seen his sister as a leper Gnome, so we assume the same happened to his parents." "Any friends?" "A few...Uh...mostly Gnomes, and some humans. Apparently he was a bit of a one with the ladies." Jarvi looked somewhat wistful. "He was looking at ways to cure leper Gnomes and remove radiation. Also interested in the effects the radiation had on other races." "I see. Well, thank you Jarvi. You've been very helpful." Mo quickly scribbled an Ironforge adress on a piece of paper." "Th-thank you Miss Brilliantblaze!" He scurried off. A few minutes later, Mozeu found herself looking at the old house of Marvin Toxitorque. There was a large cage next to it, and the whole place was covered in ooze.. It was a far shot, but would he have been the one who Emily's mother was visiting? And the wendigo thing was quite interesting...aswell as moving to Northrend. Despite braving the basement of the GNOME HQ when Fezda and Mizzy used to keep test subjects down there, there was something about that house....She didn't want to head in there without backup, and was just too nosy to leave it... Anyway. Sorry about the long post, but this is nosy Mo peering at this house. She'll be getting people to come take a look, not just for her own curiosity but also to look for a missing mother. This means that you lot can all get involved! It'll most likely be spread out over two events, one of them investigating the house, and another about them acting on what they find inside. It'll be after our 4th GNOME expedition, which is happening next week. (So make a GNOME char!) The exact date is unknown. But hope to see you there, and feedback? |

Cindy snapped open her eyes. Her hand darted underneath her pillow and gripped the hilt of her dagger there, the cool metallic surface reassuring. She caught her breath and fell silent, slipping into action mode. Something had made a noise upstairs.
Rolling out of bed silently, the covert operative lowered her stance and crept out of her bedroom, looking up the stairs. The first floor window had been forced open with telltale signs of skill - that, more than anything, put her on edge. She clambered over the stone banister and vaulted up the stairs of her Ironforge apartment. She growled. Jarvi Shadowstep, stalker extraordinaire, was face down in a chest of draws. Only his shaggy green hair could be seen rustling as he did Cog knows what to her clothing. Cindy growled and dashed forward, breaking he silent movement, before grabbing the gnome by the scruff of the neck. He yelped and flailed for a moment, helpless, before she propelled him out of the open window. How -DARE- you tell him where I live?! Anyway. Looks like fun. Of course I'll be there! I can vouch for this; any of y'all thinking of joining in, do so. Mo's good at events =P |
