I've been playing wow for a number of years, mainly on a previous account, which i gave to a friend, who has learning disabilities, hoping that it would over time help with his social skills. To be fair to him he has done better than I thought, especially with the alliance hunter, getting all of the spirit beasts and his gear to cataclysmic epic, however I was wondering are there guilds out there that will accept his disabilities and style of playing without slating him.
He doesnt know every inch of the game, though he has completed some of the deathwing dungeons through raid Finder, but is has been a learning curve and with someone who has ADHD and Autism I find it sad and infuriating that his current guild treat him like a object of fun to be laughed at, whilst he's not online.
I have a character in the same guild and they aren't aware that I am a close friend of his, but I cant always be online at the same time as him, whilst I dont want to get blizzard involved I would be grateful for anyone who knows of guild that will at least treat him with respect. The only other option would be to create our own guild but most of people on my friends list have now moved onto other games and standing in a city and asking people to sign a guild character is about as much fun as extracting teeth

Hm, without trying to sound like your friends disabilities deflect on his skill levels, generally looking at a lower progressed guild with just normal kills would probably the best option, with nice people who aren't generally well progressed as such.

I know the in and outs to learning disabilities as my uncle has it, however i don't think there is anything stopping him doing well in PvE, with a guild that aren't going to treat him of an object of laughter, and if that's true, they're jerks. however i'd probably say for your friend to look into a social guild that raid, like Stormrage Knights / Unquestionable presence or something generally guilds where you don't have to write a massive application form for nothing, just make sure you let them know about your friends disabilities in advance and i'm sure they would be fine with it anyways..

Hope I've helped a little.

I didn't write anything bad at all. I wanted to answer to this topic: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/4210105045 and for some reasons I wrote answer here.

Sadly we're not active or anything due to RL and other games atm but I wanted to share that we've had our fair share of odd characters with various issues in the past in the guild and it has worked out very well.

There are guilds with mature tolerance, believe me.

thanks for all the replies, having chatted about the options with my friend and his parents we decided it was probably best to start a guild of our own up, that way I can spend more time teaching him the social aspects of the game and guild structure alike. But my thanks again to all

Going to go out on a limb and say that finding the right group for your friend online is going to be chuffing hard.
Everyone is a "hero" online and totally anonymous so this tends to bring out the worst in people.

Tbh making your own guild where u get to set the rules seems like the only option, gl.

I know this post is a little old now, but thought I'd add a couple of things.

Regardless of your friends disabilities don't try and treat him any differently and don't think he is incapable of doing anything for himself. I am sure he'd have no problem finding a guild and enjoy himself in it given the chance. I know you are trying to be a good friend but if you try and 'hold his hand' too much then he won't be able to do anything without someone 'holding his hand'.
I know quite a few people with Autism and those who deal with it best are those who do things for themselves.

I have Autism too and I managed to find a guild I am pretty happy with and none of those in my guild make any bad references towards my Disability. Just wanted to throw it out there that there are guilds who are more than happy to accept people regardless.
