[RP] Stormwind City Guard
Kalliades, months ago now, noted the inactivity shown in the old guard, and the utter lack of any real activity, and decided, with the support of the community to re-start an older guard guild known as the state of stormwind. The old guard did exactly as it is doing now, and got itself marginally active again just long enough to try and put off kalliades from doing a new guard guild, Kalliades had no intention of simply forcing the old guard to disband, but he did want to at least speak to Wolf before going ahead, he never got the oppertunity as he repeatedly ignored IC, and treat like a criminal OOC. Kalliades relented and stopped. I simply want to ensure that a point is made here. The current 'main' guard guild of the server <The Stormwind Guard> was founded by Wólf after I disbanded the <Stormwind Guard> (it was never actually disbanded, only passed onto the original guild master, Herius' alt with no one in the guild itself.) This current guard was established a year ago almost around a time I believe there was word the State was coming back. I believe interest was lost in it then, and the newer guard led by Wólf, came into it's own right. Personally, I have witnessed this guard's inactivity, and have heard from numerous members that its current guild master has been inactive for several months. I whole-heartedly support this guard's establishment, as many, myself included, have no reliance in the activity of the current guard. I'll likely be attacked for this, but alas. The only thing I'd say Aylian, is to not wear Ornate Greaves as a female character. They are most certainly not visually fitting for a guard captain/whatever you have named the rank. |

It is pretty evident that there is fair amount of frustration coming from this dispute, and, naturally, people are going to take (and are taking) sides.
This needs to be settled between the two guard guilds as soon as possible because frustrations are likely only going to increase which will create divisions in the community, and a divide in a community - which isn't especially large, remember - is neither pleasant nor constructive. |

By the way, here are the laws/crimes which I wrote up, it's still open for criticism of course: There are minor and major crimes; committing a minor crime three times will be treated as a major crime. Committing a major crime three times leads to permanent imprisonment, exile, or execution. Several minor crimes, however, do not build up to this ultimate punishment. Committing several crimes at the same time results in a punishment consisting of those of the individual crimes. Those look neat.. Two things I think should be harsher would be treason.. It's a heinous crime and it should reflect in that.. Even iRL treason is punished by lifetime in prison or execution.
Second one being the cultism/demonology.. Cultists are hunted for death as are warlocks in general.. Demons are dangerous beings, subdued or not and cultists endanger more than the general population of Stormwind. I know that your jurisdiction does not surpass Stormwind, but I think the world would looks oddly at the Kingdom if a cultist would just get a fine, a few days in jain and some lashings. Apart from those two.. I like them! |

I forgot to mention the part about the stacking system, I added that in now - crimes stack up and lead to an ultimate punishment.
You're right about the cultism, I'll edit that. Treason would most likely be paired with murder, attempted murder or conspiracy to murder, all of which would result in exile, execution or lifetime imprisonment. |

I agree, the Cultist one does seem a tad low. And as Sal said, Treason should be a little more harsh.
All in all, I like the idea of there being set punishments instead of things being made up on the spot, or always being a jail sentance! |

Makes a lot of sense that Stormwind should take a hard-line stance on cults. After all, Stormwind and its guard would probably still have something of a cultist-related trauma after past events on the server...
And, yeah, treason is one of the highest forms of crime. |
Doesn't it come under assault or possibly illegal magics used in a harmful way? Depends on the torture, i guess. |

Late reply! Torture would probably be major assault and abduction, but we rarely ever get to deal with those things. I can't think of many people but cultists who would torture and that is illegal already as it is.
