Problems completing "Guru of Drakuru"

Over an year ago, when I was going for Loremaster of Northrend, I got stuck for a moment when I was doing the quest "Sabotage" which is a requirement for the achievement "Guru of Drakuru".
During that quest, Drakuru gives player the quest "Fuel for the Fire" which requires you to control an abomination at Zul'Drak and use it to kill trolls and summon three chieftains. However, I still have the same problem as I had an year ago... When I try to control the abominations, they stay under my control for one second, then disappear. Yes, I have tried multiple times, but the same keeps happening. I have opened two tickets so far and both of them just suggested trying to finish the quest after the maintenance. No luck so far... Has anyone found a way around this? Or is it just RNG? If it is, my RNG just sucks then. I have tried every now and then during this last year and a half but the same keeps happening all over again. Here are the quests I'm talking about: Sabotage: http://www.wowhead.com/quest=12676 Fuel for the Fire: http://www.wowhead.com/quest=12690 (the quest that is currently bugged for me) TL;DR: A bugged quest prevents me from completing an achievement. |

I shall try that. I don't want to sound mean (just curious), but how can grouping up help with a possibly bugged quest? :o |
|
It may be bugged for you and not the other person. Sometimes you get credit for quest parts while another person in your group does them. Worth a shot.
Bugging also can happen due to add-ons. You tried turning them off? |

Ah of course, just need to find someone who is on the same quest as me then... :P And yeah, addons were the first thing I thought of, but the same keeps happening even after turning them off. :/ If the problem won't solve itself, will GMs be able to mark the quest as completed so that I can get the achi someday? Silly me, never thought of asking that in the tickets... |

They can definitly mark a quest as complete. Had it happen when I racechanged during last part of legendary and a GM just marked it complete after I did 2x half requires essences. Whether he is willing to do that is another question. Some are nicer than others, just try out everything you can possibly think of yourself first, and explain it to him, he may be willing to do it. Asking never hurts. :)

Perhaps you are trying to take control of an abomination that is at the edge of the subzone you're doing the quest in. After you jump on it's back you "leave" that subzone and it disappears?
Just a thought. |

It's not the zone that is the issue, I'm afraid. I have tried close to the quest hub where the quest is supposed to take place and then a bit further away, no luck so far. I sent a ticket to GM, but he understood my issue wrong, so I still have to wait for another response. He wasn't very willing to mark it as complete, I totally understand it, but this has been an issue for me for quite a long time already. :/ |
