horde or ally?

i have always been ally, ive tried a few horde but i just get bored with leveling in general,
i want to see what a char is like at max with horde, im thinking of rolling a completely different class and roll, i want to try a caster, but not sure what is best, i think a troll mage would be cool. I have always enjoyed questing, and always sucked at pvp lol. Will a mage keep me entertained, and does anyone know if theres a way i can look past not being able to mount till 20 and fly till 60! i love flying haha! |

Try a druid, if you like change then shape shifting into 6 different forms will probably keep you entertained

Try the troll mage, and when you get tired of playing mage, just play another char... :)

Hmm sounds like me, I have 8 85's alliance side and halfway through my 9th but horde is so hard for me to level through. I played disc priest; stayed in dungeons most of the time. The race of my guilides to 85 is what kept me going ^^. Mage's are pretty cool. I find them entertaining anyway. |

Choices can be made by wondering a few things:
1) Where are my friends playing? Do I want to play on the same server? 2) What faction are they playing? Do I want to play that faction as well? 3) What are the benefits and downsides of switching faction? 4) What kind of gameplay suits me? Close combat, ranged weaponry or casting? 5) What role can I fulfill best? Is tanking my thing? Do I enjoy healing? Or would I rather stay focused on nuking the living daylight out of things? Try to answer these questions for yourself first, it could help in making the choice. Having tried out Horde myself while being a long-time Alliance player, I can tell you it's worth the choice. You see the same world, but from a whole different aspect and an entire new range of quests. Also, having Mage as a main class, I can tell you that they are quite enjoyable. I personally would recommend leveling as Fire. Why? Frost is much easier and fail-safe, and that's exactly my issue with it: shield up, nuke static dmg, rinse and repeat for 85 levels and a bazillion mobs. Too boring to my liking. And Arcane? Simply not my style, but if it's your thing to bash 1 button all the time, then it's the tree for you. Fire for me is a fun challenge. I have to use CC, nuke with a range of spells and generally use more buttons. That's how I see the class anyway, having played all classes. (Played Frost for 50 mobs total in 6 years, was bored instantly). |
