Since vanilla rogues have been very good if not OP in every season ( or almost every).
And inb4 someone says:"ROGUES ARE NOT OP BLA,BLA,BLA", no indeed they arent they can be killed but when you combine their utillity with legendary weapons you get the thing we call OP. And the reason people dont like them is that they think that rogue is easy to play ( since most of them get one shotted in low lvl Bg's) but the story is diffrent since if you want to be good with rogue at max lvl you cant just go around and spam random stuff. I will also leave this link here so that you understand what i was talking about in the first row when i mentioned vanilla: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vnvn0swfviw |

I hate them cause they can escape way too easily.
And that they have 70% arp. And that they got self healing. And that they try to act cool while jumping on you like leaping forward and backwards cause they can solo all classes except tanks and healers, and when they know they are screwed, they just vanish and mount up. I mean how LONG does vanish immunity last? 5 sec? What the hell? Is that necesarry? Why not 1 or 2 sec? |

You're all a bunch of idiots.
The game's designed that way. Rogues are SUPPOSED to be nasty, underhand, sneaking, thieving, slippery, little snot-faced scumbags. That's why we have Backstab, Shiv, Pick-Pocket, Ambush and of course, Stealth. If we were supposed to be nice little fairies we'd have Hug, Kiss, Cuddle and Love instead. Just think how happy it makes you on the very, very rare occasions when you can actually kill one and thank Bliz very nicely for such a wonderful idea. (Sometimes I let ppl kill me just for the pleasure of doing something nice for someone) EDIT - Thought of another adjective. :D |

the rogue have a very low skill requirement to play ok with at 85, however the skill cap is high, its easy to play, hard to master if i can say it that way. |

Try playing an Elemental shaman since TBC and see how you like rogues.
Being ganked for 4 years by rogues will make you dislike them. My first character i made back in vanilla, got ganked and corpse ganked by rogues near booty bay over and over. (I was lvl 40 and the rogues where lvl 60 full epics) But now i changed my main to Paladin and Druid and i will try to kill every rogue i get my hands on. Nothing personal, just to make myself feel good. And yes, since i changed mains, i've killed a lott more rogues, then they've killed me. Rogues will always go for the easy target and if they even fail on that they'll run and nothing to be done about it. |
|
Rogues don't need more skill to master then any other classes and it never took. With higher gear level it gets easier to be a "good" rogue.

The issue i find with 85 rogues are oranges and smokebomb inside preparation.
Their damage is a lil higher than it should with all that utility anyways. Low lvl pvp is crap as it is (yey bliz -.-) so it doesn't matter how they do there. |
Following your logic ... I have Shadow Word Death spell. So I should 1-shot you with it. In reality though, it does like 10 k damage and beetchslaps me back. |

The whole Rogue class is based around playing unfairly, sneaking up on people, stabbing them in the back, annoying abilities.
It's an ideal class for a 'deuchbag' :) It's also a very strong class, which often gets a lot of FOTM periods, and so gets a lot of hate for being one of the reasons why PvP is so poor. Combine these two and you'll know why people dislike Rogues. |

Yes, it is. But don't fall for the logic : 'Dogs are brown. This table is brown, ergo this table is a dog.' The thing about a rogue is, it has to come out of stealth to do damage. Admittedly, it can do a LOT of damage very fast but it's limited by two things. Firstly slow energy regeneration combined with very energy-expensive attacks and secondly cooldowns. It really has to kill quickly, with a few strikes. Once that initial attack phase is over, if the victim is still alive it has a problem because it's armor and spell defence is relatively weak and it's got nothing left to hit with. That's where vanish comes in of course:D But Vanish has a cooldown so a victim has a chance to recover too, unless the rogue wants to risk a second try on a target he already 'missed' but with no escape if it goes wrong again. So, don't qq about rogues just because the class attracts scum, roll one yourself and learn it's ways. |
I hate them cause they can escape way too easily. And holy paladins have 100% unresisted damage Selfless healer... vanish "immunity" is none existent Damage taken while in stealth does not break damage for 3 seconds When you're in danger you bubble and run.... "almost" everyone has their panic cooldown gett to 85 gear up and you will see why. Try playing an Elemental shaman since TBC and see how you like rogues. Most people go for the easy target.. A skilled rogue will go for the hard to get target and try to get the kill without getting killed. If you had an ability that saves you from being targeted for 3 seconds while running away you would do it. Hunters do it because they can Mages do it because they can.. Ferals do it Priest do it
just because you can "cheap shot ambush backstab and hope they dies" sounds easy does not mean it is easy to master as an ele shaman, I can solo "most" melee classes, "most" rogues are fine because i can kite them, if your a range and you can kite, rogues on average are fine, when the skill cap is higher you know when to do stuff and what to counter. Rogues are a pain but they depend on cooldowns to much. The issue i find with 85 rogues are oranges and smokebomb inside preparation. Icebound has 3mins, smoke bomb has 3mins The whole Rogue class is based around playing unfairly, sneaking up on people, stabbing them in the back, annoying abilities. ^ This |

The simple reason people hate them at the moment is bacuase they are overpowered by a large margin in all forms of PVP.
This causes an unpleasant loop in the game. Since they are the current overpowered FOTM class people flock to them. Since people flock to them you get a higher proportion of players playing that class so not only are they overpowered but they are also everywhere. Next year we will have a new FOTM class and rogue hatred and population will drop. |

You're all a bunch of idiots. They are so pro now i wouldnt be surprised if they could pick pocket 200 gold from players. I hate them cause they can escape way too easily. On a CD? Yeah selfless healer is kinda lol in 2v2. And the vanish immunity, werent it supposed to have an immunity so pets couldnt break it out due to a bug? Atm it seems to counter its weakness, that being, AOE. And about bubble, yeah, i have to say, i find that ability stupid but its for PvE i guess as same with lay on hands. There are so many abilities in this game that i hate myself. I thought they removed lolashield and changed it to 20% reduced damage taken shield but i was wrong :D I dont want to argue about PvP tho, i enjoy it still. Except RNG mage stun which i really seriously hate. I dont care if its balanced or OP, its just me myself who hate it:D |

Why are rogues hated?
As has been said multiple times, they have too much control and utility for their burst. Sure they only have a few seconds of burst and after that they can't do much damage, but if you survive the initial onslaught they just vanish, knocking both him AND you out of combat, meaning you can be sapped then we can wait for his energy to regen then start all over again. If they want so much control, change some CD's. 8 second blind means that without my trinket the flag in WSG will be half way across the map before I regain control. And if I do trinket out, they gouge me. And when that ends, they can disarm me. Do you know what its like to have 3 DoTs on me, finally get out of the stuns only to be disarmed. I mean sure I'm a DK so I get more spells that don't require a weapon, but it's still very annoying. You can be left standing around like a lemon for upwards of 25 seconds. That's more than long enough for him to kill you/get backup/heal himself/run away. |
