Destruction or Fire dat is the question?

So iv been playing my fire mage for quite some time and i find it fun to play with,but i cant decide wheter i should play a destruction warlock instead.
I compared both of the classes (Destro and Fire) and i see that Fire mages have quicker burst damages also they have more mobility in BG's then warlocks do,like for example. Fire Mages: -Frost Nova--->Scorch(Crit)--->Fireblast(maybe a Impact stun)--->Ignite DoT--->Instant Pyroblast+DoT--->Living Bomb--->Combustion----->Dragons breath or spam scorch. Once the mage has all the Dots+combustion its a win and if your lucky you can get another instant Pyroblast Proc. Destro Locks: -Curse of the elements--->Immolate--->Corruption--->Bane of agony or Doom--->Incinerate---->Conflagrate--->ShadowFury--->SoulBurn=Instant SoulFire--->Chaos Bolt--->Incinerate or Fear--->Then repeat from the Incinerate part. Thats all i know about Destro lock rotation. But i dont know,i see alot of Destro locks own players in BG's aswell as Fire mages,but i dont know which is more effective comparing both of them?? Short simple answer. Stick with the fire mage. PvE at level 85 wise warlocks are underachieving at the moment. Lots of buttons to press and things to keep track of and not a enough DPS pay off for all the work.
Also destruction warlocks are sooooo boring to play, especially compared to a fire mage. PvP, well PvP below level 85 is totally unbalanced. You can not base any diction on what you see in Bgs at that level. So unless you want to make a level locked twink that never gets to max level then just ignore low level PvP. Level 85 PvP is more balanced, that not to say I don’t wish some classes would be nerfed in to the ground, but at least Blizzard try to keep level 85 balanced somewhat. IMHO you would be better of with the fire mage, BUT warlocks in any spec are still worth playing, we not that badly off, we just do less DPS in general than other DPS classes, while doing a lot more work for it. |
