Has there been any significant battle between the undead and night elves?
I can think of high elves and undead, humans and undead, dwarves, gnomes, orcs, trolls and undead. But im not a lore master, and fail to think of any significant "night elf vs. undead" battles Reason being, i have a char. i transfered from night elf to undead, and i wanted the story behind him to be that he was a night elf, and was slain by my evil/bad guy char. Tauren DK. in some significant battle. |

The only significant battles I know of that were fought between the Night Elves & the Undead, was the Scourge invasion of Kalimdor, the Battle of Mount Hyjal (WCIII campaign, although I suppose you could say it was the Burning Legion instead) and the second Scourge invasion of Azeroth.
Correct me if I'm wrong. |

Not sure if this really counts, but when the Scourge invaded Quel'Thelas, Sylvanas the Banshee was born, practically inventing the Forsaken. While that is Sin'dorei lore, I believe they were once Kal'dorei, the Night Elves.

I think Zegman's hit it on the nail here, the only real significant undead confilcts with the Night Elves was in the Battle of Mount Hyjal, if you want to actually experience it for yourself there is a Warcraft 3 campaign, as already stated, however there is also a Caverns of Time raid in which you can play through and see how the events unfolded that way as well, plus you can pick up some nice Transmog loot on the way too. :) And the Burning Legion and the Scourge were one back then, as the Burning Legion technically created the Scourge, yet like the orcs they broke free from control.
Hope this was any help! |

The Night Elves fought a few battles with the Undead, however the Undead were being commandeered as cannonfodder for the Legion demons.
The only real battle the Night Elves fought against the Undead was at the World Tree. The Legion made a beeline straight for it, so there weren't much more than skirmish fights everywhere else. At the battle for the World Tree, the Orc, Human and Night Elf armies commissioned to assist in its defense took heavy casualties as the Legion blasted its way through their lines, annihilating their bases and routing the survivors. Keep in mind though that many Night Elves have also ventured across the world as adventurers, so it's still possible to be killed in the Eastern Kingdoms. (The Plaguelands is a very dangerous place, even for the most skilled warrior) |
