I have recently come back to wow on a trial account after losing my previous account. As i already have world of warcraft ( all of the expansions up to WOTLK and cataclysm is on the way in the mail) i was wondering if i would have to buy world of warcraft again if i want to upgrade my trial account?

Once a key has been used Shirock then it cannot be used again and you would have to re-purchase World of Warcraft if you wished to upgrade your starter edition.
