Question about Aspects!

Hello! =)
I have a Question: After War of Ancient in Hyjal Mountains Illidan created a new lake of Eternity. Then Night Elves become it's guardians. An then Aspects made Night Elves immortal. But Night Elves agreed to become guards personally, and immortality is a gift for their desire to help. Or Aspects of Dragons compulsorily ordered to Night Elves on pain of death, having counted Night Elves as responsible in war of the ancient. Ordered to guard a tree to wash away guilt before the world ? Order, request or personal desire? |

Depends on perspective, the dragons may see as a request or order. Elune, if in any way involved may see it as an order, but to me, the Night Elves always saw it as a personal duty.
The Night Elves are responsible for the whole damn mess to begin with, and they're are dutiful people. As said, I've always seen it as them having a personal desire, a need even, to guard and protect. It's one of the things that makes them so arrogant, they guarded for 10'000 years by choice - some group then appears and starts barking orders at them, !@#$ing with the way things are done? They can sod right off. So yeah, personal desire. |

In short : Aspects order Night Elves to guard new lake, like order to slaves? Or Night Elves offered to guard it voluntarily? |

desire... and personal duty. the aspects alextraza and ysera (and nzdromu?) gave them immortality as a gift for their help in the war of the ancients as well as a way to be forever guardians fo the tree world.
so nio punishment or slavery involved! |
