Post any ideas for new spells you'd like to have as a Priest.
Mine would be Holy Word: Retribution!
I was doing a BG in my crappy gear (don't say anything) when I met an annoying DK. I had a Warrior with me, so it was 2 v 1.
But the DK knew what he was doing and managed to keep me silenced long enough to take down the Warrior, but by this point he was low HP. Being a squishy little elf with hardly any resilience, I was dead in a few seconds.
Then it struck me.
We need a new Resurrection spell. A combat Resurrection, but not a combat Resurrection.
We Priesties should get revamped old style Raise Ally.
We cast Holy Word: Retribution on the dead target and it raises his spirit for fight for a limited time as if he was alive.
He can only fight for a limited time before his spirit fades.
The Spirit "lingers", craving its revenge for 1 minute, and as a Spirit, he will not take any damage however every hit knocks away 2 seconds from the "Spirit Buff", and it CAN be dispelled, instantly killing the Spirit.
Just a little idea to help in OSHI moments that isn't too OP'd and would function well in PvE/Raids, BGs and Arenas.
What about the rest of you priests? What are your ideas?
Hello. I love your idea of the spell, but there has to be some ajustments:
- the spell name should be different. I like Holy Word: Redemption - you give 2nd chance to your ally to redeem himself by helping you defeat your enemies. Or sth not so offensive (holy is more a pacifist spec).
- the reborn ally should do 50 % of his dmg, because unstoppable creature is op, while with weak dmg the creature can be deadly combined only with another dps to help him.
- the player has to be immune to any kind of cc, in order to be fully potential for the min he has to punish the enemies.
- the hits are for melees. Do you think what would look like for casters. And if you do, would my dots ticking reduce my spirit buff time every time they do dmg, or what about the arcane mage, who only does direct dmg and can shut down a player only with 6-7 spell casts?
My suggestion (just popped in my head :D):
Mass Penance - it does the healing to 3 most injured targets. Of the single target effect is lower than penance oroginal, but the mass effect is stronger. Also, penance is 2 sec channel spell, so Mass Pennace will do the healing every time faster than PoH (0.5 sec is sth). The Mass Penance will have the exact same cd, bigger mana req (less than PoH), it won't trigger Grace (completely op if does), it will trigger DI talent; it will benefit from te glyph. The best about the spell - it will benefit from haste (CoH only benefits from the gcd), but with 25% haste, disc will have 1 more tick of Mass Penance (PI + 5% haste to the goal :P). I think Penance is unique tool, and shooting 3 penances to your folks is cool :P The formula for Mass Penance would be (3000 + 63.5% of sp) and the mana cost should be at least 4% of the total mana.

1 Shadow attack - Priests turns target´s shadow into hostile shadowy form attacking that target for an unknown amount of damage. Only one target´s shadow can be afflected at a time.
2 Block the sun - Priests blocks the light of the sun, making a certain area totally dark damaging everybody with shadow damage. Cooldown 5 or 10 minutes. Only works in daytime and outside. Friendlies also receive damage slightly.
3 Rain of shadowbolts - Kinda similar to the Warlocks Rain of fire, replacing the fire with shadow bolts. 35 yd range.
4 Collision of light and shadow - While channeling, creating a beam of light onto the target, and send orbs of shadow towards it. When orbs collide with light, it will cause an explosion.
5 Shadow shield - Shields a friendly target for three times the damage of Powerword shield, which is 19.590 x 3 =58.770 also for 15 sec. But Shadow priest will be unable to use it´s shadow powers also deactivating his shadow form. Only works on shadow priests.
6 Void Transport - Priest or friendly or hostile target submerges into the void, reappearing within a radius of 15 yards. Kinda like a Mages blink, Rogues shadowstep and a Warlocks Demonic circle, but has a 5 minute cooldown. Priest will loose his shadow form for 8 sec after. Used only in an emergency.
7 Symbiosis - Priest forms one soul with a friendly target, preferably a mana user, doubling his or hers spellpower. Note...
The targeted friendly will still have total control of his own character, including moving.
The priest character itself will vanish. Through the targeted character he can use Shadow attack abilities. Friendly target will turn into shadowform. But Priest has NO control over moving abilites. Lasts for 10 sec and can be used every 10 minutes. Targeted friendly player can turn it off.

A combo of those would be great for an aoe or single target spell. Blocking the light would mean no shadows so they could rise as dark ghostly spirits (in a similar way dk's ghouls or army does) and fly into or through the enemy like the thingies from Harry Potter. Also it could only really be like a black circle on the ground with another effect like random flickering light. Call it shadows anguish.

I do agree that we need another AOE.
Spamming Mind Sear can get boring quickly in AoE intense fights. Having something like a mage's Blizzard to spam would be a nice change of pace. Maybe make it like Earthquake, so we can cast it then go back to our mundane Mind Sear spam to do massive AoE burst?
Sure Blizzard is nice aoe, but you knwo what - forst is not a pure dot spec, shadow is. You can SW: P targets and then MS, letting your SA to appear for extra dmg. Also the tier 6 of the talent tree is for aoe dmg and healing. Look at it and find your solution. Shadow and Afflcition does almost exact aoe dmg (in style view), with shadow spending more time to dot the mobs.
