About <D I N G>

We are Frostwhisper’s oldest continuously active PvE guild. We've been an active, vibrant and robust guild on Frostwhisper since our creation in April 2005, raided all content from MC to DS and have a membership that's drawn from all over Europe.

Our aim is to provide a friendly, fun & mature environment that provides a good balance between enjoying WoW, focused PvE progression and RL considerations; something we're proud to have done since vanilla WoW; and something we continue to strive towards today.

We have a dedicated core of Raiders who are focused on PvE progression (current progress is 6/8 Heroic Dragon Soul).

Our larger community of members call <D I N G> their home; informally arrange dungeon runs, chase achievements, level Alt characters, do some PvP, or just enjoy the /gchat banter.

We’re not hard-core, we’re not casual - we're just <D I N G>


<D I N G> Membership benefits

A fun, friendly, mature & relaxed atmosphere with helpful members who just enjoy playing WoW.

A fully stocked guild bank - our members regularly contribute spare materials and items; and they're available to all members to help with your trade-crafting and Alt levelling.

All your Alts are welcome as long as they're active and we welcome applications from your friends and family to join us too.

Our preference is to recruit Raiders from within the guild, so if a spot opens up our existing members get the opportunity to apply before we try to recruit from outside the guild.

Well-organised raids 3 times a week for Raiders; and all members can use the members-only areas of our forums to organise informal runs.

A generous free daily guild repair allowance for all Raiders.

Most guild perks already unlocked - we're Level 25 and have completed many achievements, so things like rep, experience, bartering & gathering bonuses as well as the Kor'kron Annihilator & Dark Phoenix mounts are available to our members.



<D I N G> Raids
Sunday, Monday & Wednesday: 20:30-23:30 (server-time).

We have our own DKP website and a dedicated Teamspeak server which we expect all Raiders to use for guild runs.

Raiders are expected to be reliable, know their class and familiarise themselves with the tactics which the guild are currently using.

Raiders must be gemmed, enchanted and reforged to maximise their PvE performance at all times.

Although we generally use Feasts and Cauldrons, all Raiders should bring their own food and flasks as backup.

We’re friendly, relaxed and have fun in our raids; but we also try to be focused and improve each time we attempt a boss. Being dragged down by someone who's missing an enchantment or who hasn’t bothered to get a few gems cut is fun for nobody - we expect Raiders to know their class well and come well prepared.

To allow for RL considerations we only expect Raiders to maintain an average signup rate above 50% (although most signup for many more). This is a modest commitment, but we’re pretty strict on Raiders meeting it, so bear that in mind if you want to apply to join our core raid group. Please also be aware that this understanding works both ways – if you sign for all our raids then you will get selected for most of them but will occasionally be placed on stand-by to allow everyone a fair-share of raiding. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does it’s done as fairly as possible.

It's an approach that makes it unlikely you will see us getting many world firsts(!); but it has served us well and the fact we're still going strong after more than 7 years while other guilds rise & fall tells you a lot about us.


<D I N G> Membership
Historically, < D I N G > membership was restricted exclusively to active raid members, those who used to raid, and occasionally their friends & family.
But with the change in emphasis away from large scale raiding (yeah, I miss that too !) comes a change in approach from < D I N G >. We are now welcoming general, social (non-raid) applications to join < D I N G >.
Our core raid team will be focusing solely on 10man progression and invitations to be promoted to Raider status in the future will be based solely on what the core raid team needs. We generally try to recruit Raiders from within our existing membership first; so if you're considering PvE progression in the future but aren't quite ready for it yet then < D I N G > maybe a good home for you. Existing members may apply at any time to be considered for a regular raid spot if they are up to the task and we're able to accommodate them.
If you are not interested in progression-end raiding, but are looking for a friendly, stable, relaxed, welcoming and mature (18+ only please) guild environment then we are now accepting applications for social membership of the institution that is < D I N G >.


<D I N G> Raider membership
If your main focus in-game is PvE progression then we are also accepting applications from players who wish to join our raid team. We are currently have space available; and are particularly interested in applications from the following:

1 x Enhancement or Elemental Shaman.

We will always consider good applications from other classes if you feel you're a particularly good match for our guild.
