Mage Help!

Okay, leveling this mage, love the class, love the mechanics love it love it. Different. BUT I'm a noob with teh mage wayz. I am currently looking forward to PvP at 85. Mind set on fire. Frost is out of the question. Fire is the one I must play.
Annnyway...I would really love some hint's tip's and trick's from not just you fire mages, but all mages, macros, CC tips, proffs (not so much but would like some input) playstyle..by this I mean what did you find best in PvE/PvP in certain scenario's. How can I stay alive longer in PvP? Is a fire mage tricky or not? Information, information I would love your information no matter what level. I would also love to hear your inspiration, what inspires you to play? Myn is simply Fire - Fire to me is energy, life and power. Playing this class makes me happy and I enjoy every second. Calling all Mages please teach this noob :D! |

in terms of what is said in this thread, alot of it will be out of date come next expansion (ofc alot of stuff will remain constant in relation to certain playstyles), as the way all classes are played is going to change in regard to teh removal of "talents" and the such like, so i would personally wait until MoP has landed and u can get used to the new system before trying to fine tune things, that being said:-
when u get to the level where u can make full use of combustion, make sure u save improved counterspell or dragons breath in order to immobalise/neutralise the healer/dispeller, as there is no dispel protection on combustion or living bomb, u want to try and maximise up time on it any way u can so it does enough dmg to ur target, instead of insta dispel and having to wait 2 minutes for another go, other than that, i'm not sure on other gameplay tips cos i have never played fire pvp, and am not a fan of it, but i'm sure the rest of the community can come and help out with more stuff :). |

Sometime in 2012 thats for sure. But really there is no need to look up for too many tips right now. The whole mechanic of the mage is going to change in MoP.

Not really no, it's enough to check Inferno Blast to see the bulk of the fire changes.

Aye, but let's not forget one minor change too: Hot Streak can proc off Hot Streak. |

Hmm should I concentrate on proffesions and gear then ? I gather if i farmed honour now it would be reset anyway for MoP ? and the craftable PvP gear in that will most likely out do the High end gear now ? Cheers for the info ! Dam this MoP >.<

You can farm 4k HP/JP and you'll keep them in MoP. But not VP/CP
At least that's how it was with Cataclysm |
