Here's a suggestion for anyone sick of ninja-looters.
|
Hello guys.
I'll try to keep this as simple and well explained as possible. So, after having the polearm from Deathwing ninja-looted by Resto Druids, Balance Druids and hunters that already had it equipped, only to sell it to vendors, numerous times, I thought about finding a solution for this. So. Here goes. My suggestion as to how this could be fixed in a fair and efficient manner. Feel free to give me constructive feedback, discussion etc. The role bonus, when rolling on items is when you roll for something that fits your class in one way or the other. (fits the proficiency). The problem with this is the fact that it doesn't take into account talent specialization, current equipped item or anything else. It only "requires" your proficiency to be okay for the item to be equipped. Now, let's say the role bonus, instead of just looking at proficiency solely, also look at talent specialization, role and whether the item in question is currently equipped. Now, I know what you're thinking. "Well anyone could just unequip the item before the start of the fight and need it regardless" - no, cause developers could either make the raid take a "photograph" of a players inventory upon accepting the invite or they could make it work with an extension of the Armory. But how will an item be counted as to provide role bonus for a certain talent specialization? Well this one is easy. Just improve the way it works now. Does an item have agility on it? Let Hunters, Enhancement Shaman, Feral Druid and Rogue need it. Noone would get screwed over by this in any way. This is the most fair way the role bonus system can ever work. Want an item for an offspec? Join with your offspec as to get the rolebonus. Everyone get a chance to roll on what they "deserve" Feel free to give me constructive feedback on this suggestion and remember to bump it so we get this thing looked at asap! |

1) nope.
2) nope. http://us.battle.net/support/en/article/ninja-looting-blizzard-s-stance
3) If that was possible with the curent loot system, don't you think they would have done that in the first place? Go read this: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3388951345 And finally... There is already a new loot system announced for LFR in Mists of Pandokemon, so the chances of blizzard or anyone else on this forum taking your suggestion seriously are slim to none. MoP will fix it™ |
|
I'm not suggesting a MoP fix. I'm suggesting a fix right now. Valid points or don't reply please.

They can't fix it now because it requires a complete reworking of the talent system.
That is why it is coming in MOP. |
|
|
Eh i wish someone gave a brilliant suggestion how to get rid of loot-whining threads in forums ... -_- also i want the suggestion now not in MoP cause ur spamming forums with those with frequency at least 1-2 new whining thread per day .
|
Everything you came up with and suggested has been completely in vain because there is already a new looting system designed for MoP, and it's already set in stone. |

Did you even bother to read my reply? The part you need to read is...
Get real mate, it's not going to happen. Deal with it. You are wasting your time here. Instead of wasting your time on the forum, use your time better and go fix: 7 unenchanted itemsThat will give you a huge boost in performance, much more so than 3 or 4 new items would give you. I'd say "go fix your broken character" was a pretty valid suggestion, right? Also, generic loot whine thread is becoming more generic. |
|
What makes you more eligible for this item than anyone else? be it main or offspec? You can't even enchant half of your !@#$, derp professions, sick of people like you whining like little babies thinking you're instantly entitled to every piece of loot in this game.
Get some nuts. You think you're the only one with people stealing your stuff? Peep this; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tmhnh-Xnivs |

I had the misfortune of being in 2 seperate groups with you yesterday.
You were balance spec with feral gear on DW and hit like a level 36 that was naked and afk. You got kicked after barely outdamging the healers. Then later you decided to tank ultraxion. I use the term "tank" loosely since all you did was hit the boss until you licked the pavement after the first fading light. I then solo tanked it (you're welcome) So heres a suggestion. Make do with the gear you have but learn to play your classes properly. It'll do more for you than having a higher item level. If and when you actually join a raid where you contribute meaningfully, then perhaps you will be forgiven for having such a large sense of entitlement. Until then you should accept that theres 24 other people in the raid that are most likely there for loot too. |
I had the misfortune of being in 2 seperate groups with you yesterday. Pwned! Some people use LFR for potential gear, others for enchant mats and some for vendor gold. After you win a roll, you are free to do whatever you feel like with the item. The roll is won fair and square. And ye, do what you can with what you have. Theres a gaziallion more stats to gain from maxing what you are wearing, than from a few pure drop upgrades. And finally, random is random. Our hunter has killed just as many bosses in Lfr/norm/hc as i have, and he is still rocking double lfr weps. Unlike you, he has maxed all his gear with enchants, gems and reforges, so his dps is not an issue at all. |

According to a small %age of the playerbase, any item that they roll Need on and doesn't end in their bags is called Ninjaing, and the player who won that item is a Ninja. |

The player base of WoW refer to people Needing on items that aren't upgrades or aren't for their chosen role as "ninja" looting. The pre "Need/Greed" definition of the ninja - the guy running to the mobs corpse and stealing all the gear before everyone gets to it is a concept unknown to 99% of WoW players. The term "ninja looting" means something else in this game. You are getting confused because like me you are one of the old school that remember something different but understand this is irrelevant and not the language being spoken here. |

Don't post crap on the forums as I will ruthlessly call you out for it. That statement is quite simply WRONG. Only a small percentage of the player base have ever known or experienced the original type of ninja looting. The MAJORITY in WoW have a different definition of Ninja looting. You need to speak the language of the current game and stop being an-al by trolling discussions by using long since obsolete definitions from entirely different eras. |

>LFR
>Thinks people in that raid are somehow entitled to gear >Doesn't even optimise the gear he does have Please come back when you bother treating your gear properly |

This expansion (mid expansion) I have geared a shadow set on my priest, resto set on my druid and DPS spec's on my Warrior and DK. I never NEVER needed on an item for a spec I wasn't currently using over and above main spec players that needed it. I bought crafted items, I bought emblem items, I bought rep items and then I Needed on items that the main spec person passed on after I politely asked them if they were needing it. Then I played the new spec to acquire any remaining items. If necessary I first played in lower level content (normals, original HC's instead of ZA/ZG, HOTS etc) to learn how to play the spec and acquire any missing items without negatively impacting on my fellow players. I had no trouble at all getting on offspec set without taking gear from other players main specs. That is because I am not a lazy slacking moron. |
