The skill tree in WOW:MoP is already similar to what it is in Diablo III. So to make it easier for new players to join Mist of Pandaria Mages should be called Wizards.

Also Warriors should be Barbarians, and monks should be ... well, monks.

mages use pure magic, wizards have teh capability to use both pure and impure magic, ergo it would never work in the WoW universe as warlocks are the antithesis of the mage, i think the way mages are is fine, and it shouldn't be changed just cos of another games sematics.

And Trolls should be Jungle Elves and Blood Elves should be Day Elves, yeah?

What is pure and impure magic?

Let's just change all classes to hitters, blockers and fixers to match your average Diablo players approach to gaming.

Harry Potter is a wizard, he utilises good magic, but in the 5th book he attempts to use the Cruciatus Curse, meaning he is also using impure magic. Facts.

There is no standard definition of mage, wizard, or sorcerer. But you can keep trying to get your own or that of game/fantasy universe X to be passed as default :))

Hilarious thing about the War of the Ancients trilogy is that Night Elves were called Night Elves even when they were the only variety of elves :))

in the vast majority of fantasy stories, where a humaoid species can be classed as a "wizard" they have the ability to wield as i said previous, both pure and impure magic, there are only a small number that differentiate between a "good" wizard and "evil" wizard by having sub category names (mage and warlock are examples of this), to have a wizard in the WoW universe would mean that mages would be able to wield shadow magic, and warlocks would be able to use arcane magic (shadow being impure and arcane being pure), which would totally screw alot of things up, so yeah aside from a few drastic things going wrong and the removal/merging of a class with another, this idea will never happen.

the reason they are called night elves, is due to thier worship of the moon and all the stuff to do with night etc, even the highborne were "night elves" until that nasty business of going cold turkey after realising they were addicted to munching energy and kael'thas renamed them sindorei (blood elves).

Why add a prefix to the ONLY kind of elves??

Also arcane magic isn't the opposite of shadow magic. Holy magic is.

Other suggestions of namechange would be: God, Allah, The Creator, Odin, Maha-Kali, Lucifer. Anything including Godmode would suffice.

I thought wizards were warlocks?

Basicly since we talked about Diablo 3 IF i'm not wrong its called wizard cause there are also Mages but mages are disciplined on using magical spells, they are pretty much getting proper training over magic ways while wizard acts badass and bends the ways of magic to her / his will like going /care about rules, discipline and just randomly cast spells :P

Change warrior class name to barbarian
