Cone of Cold Range

We used to have talents in Frost to increase the range of CoC by 20% it was called Arctic Reach.
It seems to me CoC range is much shorter than Frost Nova? Why is that? |

cos if it wasn't shorter, can u imagine the extra number of "Q.Q magez OP nerf now or else" posts that would plague our forums than what already does, also, i am assuming it is something to do with being a melee range ability making it fit thematically only having a "melee" stylke range.

It's not that short tbh, tested it a lot with a warrior to ensure I never miss them, and the spell reach does slightly exceed the spell animation, at least it did last time I checked, which is a pretty generous range.

Arctic Reach was made baseline for CoC. Or anyway we at least don't have the crappy default range we had in WotLK.
