Not Enduring The Heat

Hi Blizzard.
Just wanted to let you know so you don't make the same mistake again. I consider a badly designed quest one that annoys me needlessly. Enduring The Heat annoyed me. Not fun, especially because it's a daily and that means I have to repeat it for maximum MotWT daily income. I respect you guys are doing different things with quests to keep them interesting and naturally you're not always going to get it right but you need to know this quest is poor, completely not good for an MMO. If I want to play annoying mini-games that punish me for 'losing' I'll get one of those Popcap problem-solving games. WoW is gear based, this is unarguable. To fight some mobs I need halfway decent gear, you build quest mobs with assuming I have the appropriate gear in mind, at least quest blues and greens. The above mentioned quest relies on you doing several things independent of the gear-based grinding mechanic of your game: 1. Figure out that mobs can't hurt you so much inside the rune. 2. To 'stamp out' the run you must click on it. 3. Where all the runes are. 4. That there are assisted jump points over the lava (essentially unmarked). 5. Clicking the runes kills mobs in a radius around you. 6. Figure out the best route to take. Even with all this in mind I have died because the mobs hit too bloody hard for constantly re-spawning mobs, I feel like I am playing Pacman but without any of the fun (I didn't even like Pacman that much). To earn these vital requirements for completion of a daily I have died multiple times and going to have to pay a stupid repair cost. Lastly the quest is unfair. It's great if you're a class with good CC or Speed buffs, even some insta-cast heals (which admittedly is almost everyone these days). For everyone else it's a massive F you and good luck. If you don't want to fix the quest at least ensure I never have to see something like it again, thanks for listening. Peace. |

We'll there's nothing in the quest to fix, it's really easy and fair.
I took some hits from the elementals (only ~20k on plate, shouldn't bother a DK) in my first runs but afterwards I dont even get hit in there. If you die all the time on the quest I really recommend you to l2p, or the 2nd option why you are dying is that the route you use is plain horrible. |

Look I painted you a route picture

The route I use and pretty much never even get hit is first go up the left side, don't touch the first run you encounter, stamp out the second, jump over the vent to the one far back in the room, stamp that out, then circle back along the right side to stamp out the two there, then go through the middle back to where you left the first rune, stamp out the one in the middle along the way, then stamp out the first run, then go up the slope to the last rune above the entrance and stamp that out too, fast and easy. for the record, your a dk, you have speed boost, just turn unholy presence on.

Deatholdt, I think you're being a bit unfair.
The trick is not to attack the mobs. At all. I'll grant you that the first time I tried it, I ended up running out and having to go back in, but once I understood what was going on, I take almost no damage, even as a clothie. I use a different path than Ibuprofeeni - I go back up to the left immediately, like Namari - but with any halfway sane path you'll be fine as long as as you don't try to stop and fight. As a daily, you're not expected to "get it" first time, but once you master it, it's cheesecake! |
Deatholdt, I think you're being a bit unfair. Well I didnt understand that he's trying to kill the enemies, you shouldn't do that :P And they route I so professionally did in 5 minutes is my route, dont get hit in that with just normal pala run speed (without retri talents) |
