Hello!
They should make a poll system on the main page of Battle net where people can vote. I see a lot of people and blues saying this and that about what the community likes. But how about a poll to really show what everyone thinks. The poll could be changed every week and questions could be asked like "What do you think about the Dragon Soul patch?" or "Do you think LFR has helped the game" And there could be a sticky where people could discuss the poll. I think this suggestion could shed some light on many things. EDIT: Thete
This is probably even a better idea. |

They have stated over and over that a simple yes or no poll ain't helping them at all as they need to know why people vote as they do. Hence why they want discussions and not polls.

If they want to poll everyone, it should be an in-game survey.

Both helps just as much. Exactly nothing. Take the popular thread "We consume content too fast?", where the blue is stating that the majority loves LFR, but 95% of the people writing in that thread dislikes it, so it must be the silent majority, but how do they know? - They are silent. I just don't believe in any of the gibberish with the "we want discussions", because they are not listening, or maybe they are, but they express themselves as they don't and that we are all wrong. Might sound a bit harsh, but that is honestly what I feel when I read whatever they write in the discussion threads. I would actually love to see a poll regarding LFR and how many people who likes and dislikes it, and be able to follow the % of each, just to see. But regardless, if the majority of the votes is placed on "dislike" (say, 90%), Blizzard would say that it is only the vocal majority's opinion, and that everyone that doesn't read/write on the forums or checks the website loves LFR. It's a lose/lose tbh -.-' |
Well from these polls there could come some good discussions right?
This is even a better idea. This way everyone could easiliy participate. |

I want polls!

Polls are very impersonal and not very accurate to the true thoughts of your standard player. They also don't tend to take into account all the different kinds of players like raider, casuals, roleplayers and so on.
It's much more important that they get written feedback on the forums. As long as it's constructive. |

Yes, the mechanism is already in game to do it. Perhaps give achievements for doing it, and a non-combat pet once your have completed 10 (e.g. a penguin) |
They also don't tend to take into account all the different kinds of players like raider, casuals, roleplayers and so on. Why do you need that information when you have a poll like "On a scale from 1 to 10 how much did you like 4.3" for example. |
|
|
That's actually a great idea! Anyone who's ever filled a ticket should know that the coding required to do so already exists in-game, as we are given a questionaire about customer service afterwards. |
|
|
They also don't tend to take into account all the different kinds of players like raider, casuals, roleplayers and so on. I should hope they don't ask that. A patch introduces a number of features and each would need to be asked about individually. |
But you can make good discussions out of polls. I would like to know how many players enjoy doing LFR, the only reason that I do it myself is only cause of the gear, otherwise I really don't like it. The diffculty is way too forgiving, and the trash/boss fights are just training dummies with too much HP. |
I'm just making examples. I think the poll feature would help in someway. But I don't really know what kind of poll questions would actually help discussions on these forums and the game. |

Something we'd like to see a lot more of is voting up or down on comments here in the forums. This way, when someone gives their thoughts on a topic, we can get a much better idea of how many people agree or disagree. It's also handy if you don't have time to make your own reply.

Make it so it isn't mouseover then. Basic design, if they don't see it they are less likely to remember it or be aware of it's existence at all. I see lots of good posts and don't even consider upvoting because I don't usually mouseover posts. |

The reason i dont usually bother to do it is because votes are not publicly visible. If they want more people to do it they should show how many up or down votes posts have |
I agree with this. I often don't bother voting because I can't see that my vote makes any difference. Adding in a counter would change this and make me more inclined to up or down vote comments. |
|
|
Why not more of an in-game survey then, asking relatively basic questions to get a fuller understanding of why players do or don't like something. Could even be multiple choice or something, but I don't see how Blizzard can get decent feedback at the moment.

Jito does not like the prospect of seeing all his posts with a negative score attatched to them. That would make Jito very sadface. Jito prefers living in the illusion that his posts are liked, even if it is just an illusion. Upvoting is a great feature. Downvoting....very cruel feature :| |
