Every week this summer, we’re challenging you to get together with a few friends to explore a part of Azeroth that you may not have seen in a while, or perform a feat that you may have never done. They're World of Warcraft Summer Challenges, and we’re going to be playing along with you as we hunt down rare achievements, get screenshots of amazing bosses, and try to find some awesome gear for our transmogrification sets.
This week’s challenge is: Black Temple. Long ago on Draenor, the Temple of Karabor was the center of draenei worship. But the devout priests who prayed there are long dead, slaughtered by marauding, demonically corrupted orcs. In the massacre's aftermath the warlocks of the Shadow Council seized the structure and bestowed upon it a new name: the Black Temple. |

How about make the old content worth running?
It's 100 times better design, but at lvl 85 it's a faceroll... |

It may be a face roll, but I dont think Blizz intend for it to be a difficulty "Challenge" I remember raiding BC raids for transmog gear, or as they suggest for BT, its the Warglaives and such.
I think maybe a reason for new players (such as myself) to revisit content that we werent around for when we joined (only 6-& months ago) |

50 Black Temple runs, 1 Main Hand - 0 Off Hand Warglaives dropped :)

Black Temple was awesome raid, had a build up to it, raid was in the game already with many quests on and around the area from release which made it make sense and some goal to work towards. Had a great attunement quest that engaged the players in the story about it, great bosses, awesome design and amazing music track to it. It also had Illidan.
YOU Blizzard do not make raids like these anymore, time will come when only the old raids are worth going to if it hasn't already. |

Both in 6 runs, saw 2 off hands in that time too Victory is mine! nah but i love bt, i run it on multiple chars weekly. That shammy look a like gear never drops for my hunter, likewise with the priest lookalike stuff for my mage. |

Love the effort, however, why not have challenges like this when there's also new content being offered?
It somehow feels like a last ditch effort. Not saying it is, but the timing does make it feel that way... |

Black Temple... one of the greatest masterpieces from blizzard. The feeling of that place was superb @lvl 70 and also todays. There was no Heroic mode that time ... but after Teron Gorefiend the raid was as hard as todays Heroics as I remember... TBC <3
I think that it would be much more fun if we would get back the TBC raids of lvl 70. I mean when Wotlk arrived all raids got a -30 % nerf. I remember the Illidan of 7 million HP. Or the KJ in sunwell with 12 (or above) million @ lvl 70. :D BTW saw 2 main hand drops (also got 1) but no off hand in years. Cheers |
