There are freedoms to be fought for in even a stable country, and there will be people who won't become embroiled in politics in even a civil war. It's not for us to judge, is it? |

even if I fight for freedom and democracy a couple of hours a week (protest marches, online petitions, being part of a political movement) I might still want to log into a relaxing game now and then :)

His people are being blown up by tanks and jets.... We're not talking about a white collared protest this is civil war |

According to many posters on the forums Blizzard is against some country or another every few
weeks. I must say I am amazed that given the situation in Syria at this time some of you can still play on the internet. Its not a criticism of you. I accept that any diversion from the war would be welcome. |
I said that on the FIRST page, next time read the whole topic. |
Do people read the whole thread before posting anymore? |
|
I see people writing as if Blizzard is doing this on purpose just to get to all the Syrian WOW players, and that Blizzard should make an exception bla bla bla.
They are bound by LAW. They cant do it even if they wanted to(which im sure they do). |
|
|
And I was replying to a post on the SECOND page. Regardless of you posting about it. I was stating why their statement was incorrect. Next time read the whole post! |

Elvis has left the building...
I mean Alwared hasn't posted on this thread for two pages, I think we can stop bickering amongst ourselves and regurgetating ways to circumvent the sanctions * doesn't have a lock, but puts a little ribbon bow around this thread * Let the next post be Alwared stating whether he had succes with any of the methods suggested :) |

This is very sad because one of the wonderful things about World of Warcraft is that no matter your race, colour, creed or sexual orientation everyone is welcome and has a good time in game.
I am sure it is not because Blizzard wants to take sides, in any form regarding the unfortunate political situation in your country, as that is not how they roll but they have to obey the laws in both the E.U. and U.S or they will be shut down I hope you will not hold this against them and will come back to World of Warcraft as soon as the situation returns to normality |

that's what they used to say . it's not this only , if someone outside Syria tried to buy me any service , the same problem will happen . it's because the account country states : Syria while a friend of mine out side Syria tried to help but couldn't also , he is out side Syria and using a credit card from out side of Syria and still the same . |
|
|
Tell him to send you a game card.
Gamecards aren't covered by sanctions as there is no trading between Syria and other nations involved. A gamecard WILL work. |

Did you contact any Syrian/Iranian players on the servers mentioned earlier that have large player groups of them?
Do any of them know a way? |

There are 3rd party website who sell game-cards and you can pay with paypal or directly by credit card.
They are trusted by millions of players (heck, I bought WoTLK and Cataclysm from them) and totally safe. You don't need pay directly on the battle.net website. One of them is "Gamers Loot" (just google for it). |
There are 3rd party website who sell game-cards and you can pay with paypal or directly by credit card. Unfortuantly, that won't help Syrian/Iranian players anymore. Blizzard blocked several IP's from coming out of the countries, meaning the only way to access Blizzard's services is by using a proxy, which is obviously not the best way of playing. |
