World of Warcraft Collector's Edition

I’m not sure that this question/request belongs under this category, but I couldn’t find a better place to post it.
I am a big fan of every product Blizzard has made, and utterly thankful for all the time and effort you put into making the best games possible. This question may seem like an unimportant and stupid question, but it’s kind of a big deal to me. I have throughout the years pursued the collector’s edition for all your games (WoW, SC2, D3). But I have been missing the 2 first patches (Vanilla and Burning Crusade). Just now, I believe I have gotten my hands on both those collector’s editions, so my collection is soon to be completed! But those two is already open, and the codes are used. (For financial reasons I could not afford paying 1900 USD for an unopened vanilla) So here is my proposal; there should be made possible for players to buy the code/key to activate/upgrade their account for collector’s edition digitally on their battle.net account. Whit this in mind and the opportunity to buy the upcoming patch: Mist of the Pandaria Deluxe edition, there would be awesome to have the opportunity to get a deluxe version of all the available games. I really enjoy playing games from Blizzard, and I have used a lot of money and time on these games. And I would gladly pay for a deluxe version of all the games. This would also be a boost for Blizzard, as thy will make more money with posting something that already exist. And if Blizzard gets more money, they will keep making improvements to all the awesome games they have made. I post this on the forum because I would like to read what other people think of this, and to see if there is other who shares my wishful thinking. We know that if you wish to change or add something to the game, you must show that fellow players have the same interested in the change. Either way, I am glad you took your time to read this request, and please tell me where to post this request if this was totally wrong. And of course, keep the response and feedback under the Code of Conduct for the forum :) |

I was wondering this exact same thing I too would like to upgrade my classic, TBC, WOTLK and Cata versions to a deluxe versions.

The vanilla pets are adorable... I'd certainly consider upgrading for those if it was for a reasonable price, aka not the insane prices a vanilla CE with a key goes for.
But really in all honesty, at that point they may as well just add those three pets to the cash shop? Without the box the old CE's don't really give you anything else. |

But this would unfortunately defeat the purpose of Collectors editions - they are supposed to be limited, and only for those people who are willing to exchange their souls for a Collectors Edition. This is one of the few things I still find Blizzard doing right: Unlike Bf3 "limited" edition. And if you really want the pet and you already got vanilla box, I'' suggest to add feature to swap game licenses with accounts. - he has CE but doesn't really care about it but wants to play - and you've got norm - so you could swap

Already suggested - http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/5030553136?page=1 - and I think it's a good idea. Though, as CE were supposed to be limited, I can't see it happening.

I don't agree with having a limited supply of something that's completely digital (The in-game stuff, not the miniatures and books and things like that). There's obviously a demand for it given two topics emerged in such a short space of time, and I'm sure there's a big enough market in the Blizzard Store customers for it to be a financially viable idea. Selling Digital Deluxe upgrades to in-game CE content (Or just selling the pets on the Store directly) wouldn't be a slap in the face to those who bought the CEs, as it's all just the digital stuff we'd be getting. |

You are absolutely correct, and I agree that a collector’s item should be limited. But since they opened the opportunity to buy a deluxe version of the new patch, I see no reason this could be done for the older ones to. Because those who have the original collectors have all the materials that came with the box and the deluxe versions only provides the digital inngame items :) |

I’m glad I could lift your spirit ;) But in my mind, Blizzard is providing the best games on the market at this moment. You are off course free to feel different :) |

A blue once said that if there was a "read by Blizzard" symbol like the current reply one, that it would be everywhere on the forums.
I hope they weren't lying. |
