2014 World Of Warcraft movie !

So true. For anyone who hasn't seen it, Tales of the Past is an incredible feature film. Don't let the voice acting put you off; it really is amazing. |

Hopefully they make it using the technology from Avatar.
Looking forward to see some LORE adventures. There must be enough material and stories for 10-12 cinema movies. :-) |

Would be cool if it does happen. I can only guess that the films would follow the expansion series. Saying that.... that's 4 films.. :/
Don't know if they've got the time, money or target audience for that. As I say, would be cool. But can you picture the reviews? Done by WoW players?? "That's wrong... goblins weren't there THEN!... He SO just broke CC.... :p |

As long as it not directed by Uwe Bol or Mister Shamalamadingdong, I'll be looking forward to seeing it, though like with most movies based on videogames I expect it to suck very very badly.

To be fair, no matter what blizzard release, all the fans will rush out and buy it then comment later.
The celestial steed? remember how many sold in the first min? I wonder how many pre ordered MoP the day it was announced to be released. They could make this movie about some fruit vendor and you people would pay to see it. |

I hope they will tell the Arthas story. It is epic, isolated enough so audiences who are not familiar with the lore will understand and features the most iconic characters in recent warcraft history.
But I fear they will make it about some sort of side story that happened between the major events in lore. With characters nobody heard about and crappy writing what we have come to expect from videogame->movie adaptations. |

I hope it is not an utter disaster like the Dragonball movie.

Realistically, the movie shouldve been released at Wow's peak, somewhere in the first year of Wotlk.
There is just too much negativity surrounding the Warcraft brand these days.
Actually, I expect the exacty same "quality" for the WoW movie. |

It wont be world of warcraft, just from the lore of warcraft

I think I have heard of this before. It's going to be set 1 year before World of Warcraft (so 6 years after The Battle for Mount Hyjal)
Also unfortunately I think the movie is non-canon as King Varian Wrynn's "brother" will make an appearance. (Which in lore, never existed) Source: http://www.wowwiki.com/Warcraft_(film) Shame they missing out so much of the history of the world. Hopefully we will get some sort of quick "History Lesson" at the start of the film or something. |
In October 2009, production company Legendary Pictures along with Blizzard Entertainment announced that the film's budget would be "Not less than $220 million". I don't think it's going straight to DVD... |
In October 2009. 2009!!! Hello, could there be a bigger diffeence in how popular the Warcraft franchise was back then and how it is now !? |

Well the Warcraft franchise has always been popular, Star Wars didn't decrease in popularity because the MMO sucked, Warcraft won't decrease in popularity because people think the MMO sucks either. The Lord of the Rings franchise is more popular than ever with a hobbit movie coming out, and LOTRO is F2P. |
