What socket should i choose

So im kind of wondering which socket would be best for me as a fire mage. This is about a yellow socket. So I can either choose to have theese bonuses:
50 int(brilliant) 35 int and 25 haste rating(+socket bonus) So my question is simple: What is best, 15 int or 25 haste. Thanks :) |

Probably 15 intellect.

as a rule of thumb, intellect is contributing twice as much to a mage's output than any secondary stat such as haste, thus, 15int=30haste at best.
ofc that is just a rule of thumb and the actual calculation is a bit more complicated than that but I guess you get the point... ... 15int are indeed better than 25 haste UNLESS you need them to reach a haste cap you couldn't otherwise achieve. EDITH says: Don't take me up on that and start gemming haste for haste-caps xD it's meant for a singular exception where you really really need exactly 25 haste... which I don't see happening but, well, it could, theoretically speaking. |
