Will we ever see updates for these zones, for flying mounts perhaps, or just a few updates to bring them up to date with the rest of the world?
For example, in one of the short leader stories it was said there were large refugee camps on Azuremyst isle, will there be a small update to bring those in or will the zones be left to rot? |

I would hope that the Outland expansion is given an overhaul soon. I would like the frustrating 5% drop rate gone and flying in Azuremist/Bloodmist Belf starting area attempted again. It was tried, but there were problems and hopefully they were not unresolvable!

Cataclysm saw a revamp of the 1-60 levelling experience.
I must say I never really understood why as new players wouldn't think the old levelling experience was old as it would be the first time for them to see the content. Unless the new levelling was purely aimed at old players as new Cata content wasn't enough to keep peoples interests, so levelling an alt or two (in my case 4) was intended to keep our interests. I do feel a little let down when I hear old zones/dungeons are getting revamped as to me it suggests fresh ideas are getting thin on the ground. |

For me, the immersive element of WOW is what puts it above other games such as SWG or STO which constantly paused to load when moving between areas. It would be nice to see the old areas currently portalled off being integrated for flight and the removal of the invisible barriers surrounding the areas. As BC is now included in the base price for WOW, the portals are nolonger necessary.

Buring Crusade zones are holy grounds, worshipped by many WoW players. Please do not desecrate.

I'd just love to see something new happen in Outland. Other than levelling up there, there's absolutely no reason to go back - and Outland had some of my absolute favourite zones. If you could get us back beyond the dark portal somehow, I would genuinely love you forever.

Updating Everson/Ghostlands and Azuremyst/Bloodmyst Isles desperately need to be added into the main world as it is. They're holding back the game for a large part of immersion, ie the barrier at the north side of Eastern Plaguelands. It makes the game feel old in a world that has been recently revamped. If anything they should have been dealt with in the Cataclysm update. Since that update is long passed, it is still something that needs development attention. A lot of people go to these places for various things, be it roleplay or city raids. I raided the Exodar a week ago and people were saying things like "Huh? No flying?" and some of the more experienced players in the raid had to explain the stupidity of the reason for why it was like that. The Draenei islands are perfect to update for flying, as there is nothing really wrong with them, even Exodar itself would only need a brief touch up. Eversong and Ghostlands would need a bit of work as they'd need to be brought into the Eastern Kingdoms world server, but the long term benefits of doing so would drastically outweigh the short term negatives of doing so. It could be done slowly over time as a side project for the developers and implemented in a later patch or something, but the longer it's left as it is, the older the game feels. |

well honestly, if you DO decide to bring back illidan like said at blizzcon..... your going to need to :P but yeah, ghostlands and the draeni islands needs to really be added to the current map, not their own instances. |

When they said they were "bringing back Illidan", - I thought they were referring to the Well of Eternity dungeon...? I know it's not "bringing him back" as such, but more like "bringing him back in new content, that has taken place in the past..." |

I realise that updating Azeroth was a huge monolithic task for Cataclysm - but Blizzard did superbly in that respect. I don't think there is that much that would need changing in these zones. The addition of flying being the biggest - only because it feels very clunky to the player. Aesthetic changes would be lower priority - agreed. Personally I would love to see the scourge trail in Eversong forest/Silvermoon healed. |
So much this |

Mmm. Would it be fair to say that, if it was done, players woudn't mind if it was done in bits? There are...9 zones from The Burning Crusade (Not including the Isle of Quel'Danas, as it really isn't a leveling area). There is no point in doing them all at once, as you explained that will take time away from the exciting features coming in MoP, and the thriving story from expanding as the player base wishes. But, back to my point of taking time. For example, Hellfire, Zangermarsh, Draenei and Elven lands done in one patch, Terokar, Nagrand and Netherstorm in another, then SMV in the last patch (To give more time to Patch 5.3, which is apparently the last patch of MoP.) |

I very much doubt it's the thing they would do "for free" (Our subscription costs don't seem to count for much) so I guess we would be looking at expansion. But given that Cataclysm...was of questionable success...I don't think they would do another overhaul themed expansion. |
