Every week this summer, we’re challenging you to get together with a few friends to explore a part of Azeroth that you may not have seen in a while, or perform a feat that you may have never done. They're World of Warcraft Summer Challenges, and we’re going to be playing along with you as we hunt down rare achievements, get screenshots of amazing bosses, and try to find some awesome gear for our transmogrification sets.
This week’s challenge is: Zul'Aman and Zul'Gurub. Find out more about this week's challenge in our blog. Zul'Gurub was the capital of the Gurubashi jungle trolls, a tribe that once controlled the vast jungles of the south. It was here that Jin'do the Hexxer summoned the savage loa Hakkar the Soulflayer into Azeroth. Of late, these efforts have begun anew amid an alliance between the Gurubashi and Zandalar trolls that seeks to establish a unified troll empire. |

Such an awesome quote. ^_^
Nope, there isn't.
This would be so much awesome! Having a competition for best screenshot would be great :-) (No vanity rewards would be needed, though - surely the pride of having won the competition would be enough! :P) |

I just got done in those troll dungeons after Cata heroics.. never again.. never again. These had to be the most painful dungeons I had to do. Nevertheless, good idea, and good loot. Still using the Twinblade Of The Hakkari I bagged from there, even if we did wipe 2-3 times.

Although not during the Summer Challenge, yesterday me and a group managed to do the [Bear-lly Made it!] achievement and it was sure of a challenge! I won the mount, which was awesome. <3

You can either use the Dungeon Finder or simply fly there. It's not a special version of the instances. It's just a challenge to back and do them again. |

Summer Challenge: Zul'Aman and Zul'Gurub.
The real challenge is to go back there and enjoy yourself. |

Is this the blizzard scheme to keep people occupied untill MoP hits? Fail. Why should i do something i've done almost 2-4 years ago for 0 reward? Double fail because you guys didn't managed to keep WoW interesting for players towards the end of expansion. And triple fail for loosing so many realms on which population went from Medium to super low. And back on topic: what's the challenge again? |
Don't blame the CM's, they are at least trying to keep people entertained. But just looking at the "times read" of this topic is a good indicator that not a lot of people are going for this.Every week this summer, we’re challenging you to get together with a few friends to explore a part of Azeroth that you may not have seen in a while, or perform a feat that you may have never done. That's a little unfair. Topics that get a large number of reads usually have a discussion that people want to keep informed of so that they can occasionally add their perspective. This is just a notification - so people are more likely to see it on Twitter / MMO-Champion, etc. and not bother with the thread. That isn't to say I'm suggesting that everyone is going back to the Trolleroics and doing them for old time's sake. Just that there's a middle ground between the two extremes, and one should endeavor to find it. |

1. Don't speak for others, unless agreed upon beforehand or clearly appointed spokesperson for the group which opinions you represent – or actually did a poll about it. I strongly doubt you've talked to most people beforehand or that you are the spokesperson for most players, and you didn't make a poll. Or did you? tl;dr: It's considered bad manners to shove words down people's throats. 2. How is it an insult to challenge people to do something in a game? How in any way are you able to take affront personally by this initiative? I'm right out flabbergasted by your statement. tl;dr: Why so insulted? |

Haha,
ZA, ZG....... When they were revamped in Cata they were my MOST hated dungeons. So much hate getting thrown around by players who didn't know what they were doing, pointing fingers in any direction except their own. |
unfair, perhaps, but at the time I wrote that, the read count was lower then 250. Which was also the number of the previous challenge, and the one before that. But, you are right, the 3rd party sites seem better at spreading this kind of news. It would be interesting, for the sake of argument, to see the actual metrics on those instances, and those of let's say 6 weeks before. |
