balance addon help
|
|
hey guys can u tell me the name of some best addon for balance? the most important i need is the one that displays the remaining time of DoT but i d like also the one that show the cast time of the abilities and the one that shows debuff on me..and everything you think is useful..
thanks! |

For PvE, DBM is needed for all classes.
ForteXorcist can be used to display remaining time on DoTs and/or cooldowns. Quartz is a nice casting bar addon. ShinyBuffs adds a bit of spice to the normal buff UI. There's also a few addons that display numbers for CD/GCD on abilities while they're on cooldown, instead of the normal faded swirl, but I don't remember the names of those... |

As a Moonkin BalancePowerTracker is a must-have, it predicts the amount of eclipse power you gain and thus tells you when you hit eclipses - much more effective than the default bar.
As multidotting (dotting up everything around us that needs to die) is also a big thing with us, PlateBuffs is a neat addon that adds configurable DoT timers to your NamePlates. If you think the Blizz NamePlates look a bit shabby, I'd suggest fixing them up a bit with TidyPlates. This addon has its own DoT timer, but it can be disabled and PlateBuffs is more configurable with coloured timers depending on time left :) Lastle I see Nikeyeia didn't meniton Skada or Recount, I hope you have one of them :P |

Nikeyeia already mentioned ForteXorcist, which has an excellent DoT-timer just like the one you're wishing for. It can even show when on the bar the ticks are! It's called SpellTimer in the FX window.

ok thanks now i download balance power tracker but as i can see it s like the same as the normal balance power bar but it s in the middle of the screen..isn t it the same as having quartz for dots?

You say Quartz for DoTs. Imo Quartz is an excellent castbar, but ForteXorcist is better for DoTs as it can also show their ticks, but that's just personal preferance I guess.
As to BPT it's not really the same as your default Eclipse Bar: It's more configurable (ofc you can move it and change the design and everything like that), but also more informative as it has an option to predict the added eclipse power of your casts, which really is our bread and butter. |

cool so if i ll figure out how to set it up (i ve installed it but there are too many options) i ll use it..

I use NeedToKnow for my dots, it's a very good timer addon for dots and buffs/debuffs, and very configurable (easy), can post some pictures.
Picture with names of addons. (bottom left addons is :TargetHealthPrecentage, and Recount) http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/5406/wowpic2.jpg Picture without names http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/3444/wowscrnshot081112220205.jpg These are my addons + setup. This will manage every single battle with ez! |

i downloaded needtoknow i put the names on the 2 bars but it doesnt tell me anything when casting..i don t know how to set it up..by right clicking i set debuff, the cast time taken from the spellbook and what else? it doesnt work
|

you should rightclick, and then you have to chose on which target it should track from, like
if it should track debuff on - player, target or focus. you will want to put it on "target". |

If you can't guess the slash command, your configurable addons will generally be in your interface options :)
