Yeah, you do. You could participate in past world events, too. They always happen before the expansion, so no one can have it yet. |
It will say World of Warcraft is up to date because it is it's just a download of some initial data to make the later download smaller. Mertie has just been spamming that for a while now, best to ignore it, he is just trying to troll people with misinformation. You should have a download running if it hasn't already completed, check your World of Warcraft install location for a folder called TempMig\5.0Migration-data with several files in. Those are what are currently being downloaded by people. |

new patch ......21GB okok really ? Yup, 21Gig and I'm at 16.6 at the moment with a crap download speed at this point. Fun times! |

IF you go to you wow folder, you can just open the background dopwnloader, and it'll tell you what patch you have, or if it's updating.

The downloader shows the last patch as up to 4.3.5 build level 15595, which was some time ago.

No it's not a final cata patch. It's pre-patch data. The patching process should in fact say 4.3.3 - 4.3.4. 4.3.4 was the final cata patch. There are no new cata patches.
and for those having slow download speeds, take these steps: 1) Open Blizzard Downloader preferences 2) Uncheck "Download while playing World of Warcraft. 3) Check Download after exiting World of Warcraft 4) Check Don't throttle background download If you follow those four steps exactly the download should run after you exit the game (the game, not the launcher) and will download at your full connection speed. |

The MigrationContent*.MPQ and MigrationContent*.MPQ.lock files in the folder I listed above match what we were told would happen in official articles. Data would be downloaded beforehand but not unlocked until it goes live.
Jus one more question: if there are no more Cata patches how will players who don't buy an MoP upgrade see the world event? |

Because they'll still receive the MoP update. They'll just have features locked.
