Unlike the racist trash talkers who came into this thread on their low-level disposable toons, the Iranians here conducted themselves with maturity, eloquence and intelligence. Blizzard on the other hand behaved appallingly, and utterly without regards to ethics. For weeks they had planned to block Iranian, Syrian and Sudanese players, and yet continued to accept their money and subscriptions. Blizzard didn't even grant us the courtesy of any advance warning. How convenient for them that US Law "forbids" them from refunding the subscriptions. Also, what this thread has served to illustrate is the utter bankruptcy of the MVP program. We all saw the convoluted and increasingly ridiculous explanations put forward that Blizzard couldnt POSSIBLY be at fault here, that they would never block an entire country. Those avid defenders of all things Blizz are silent now, and who can blame them, with the dinosaur size eggs on their faces. |

To be fair I never thought Blizz were behind this due to the way it was handled. While I could say that you were playing on borrowed time due to breaking the ToS that doesn't excuse Blizz in any way shape of form. It also doesn't show the bankruptcy of the MVP program in my opinion. It just shows that MVPs are able to make errors in judgement like the rest of us. |

This is the thing that annoys me the most. They already had this thing planned out and if you want proof look at the way things were executed. This block was placed via a thing implemented on reset day, meaning blizz had full knowledge that this was going to happen. But what did they do? They continued to accept subscriptions and MoP pre orders. I effing renewed my subscription last week and I was planning to pre order the collectors edition of MoP the day the block was implemented but thank God I didn't. This act is really disgusting Blizzard. You really exceeded my expectations with this one.. |

Finally,To all dear Fanboys.Do u see that blizzard is behind this?
Check the blue post.Pretty clear |

I'd believe that when it happens in isolated MVP cases, but when all MVP's say the exact same thing? That's just plain stupid. The way they acted was like a child in denial. They kept on repeating the same thing over and over again "This is your government's fault". |

So Eve online anyone ?:D

Our team has been watching this thread closely, and we understand the desire for more information about this situation. Blizzard Entertainment cannot speak to any reports surrounding the Iranian government restricting games from its citizens. There. Now log diffrent characters and come up defending the side that caused this. Even though iran's Goverment is totally screwed up,This time its not their fault. By US laws,Persian/Syrian/Sudian players doesnt have the right to enjoy the game they have PAYED for 6-7years.and they call it a Free World. How could you try to stay out of this political matters? Why would u try to bring up the rumor that iran's goverment blocked IPs,And stayed Silent after 97Pages,So u just figured ppl already have strong reasons to believe its from Blizzard side, then you just apppeared and BAM "We are sorry". i always used to admire blizzard customer service but this time, its just a BIG break down for a big Company like blizzard right before the new expansion. You will be responsible for this. |

To be fair it's politicians who are to blame for the situation. Blizzard however are responsible for their handling of it.
Usually smart people, when mistaken are amongst the most stubborn. Whether you believe them to be people who made a mistaken judgement and stuck with it or whether you think they're 'brown nosing' depends on the individual. I personally believe it to be the former. |

Firstly I'd like to apologize to everyone for my topic on MMOC, at that time based on what I had witnessed seemed like the only logical explanation.
Second, for once, I'm actually very disappointed that it wasn't my government that was responsible for this, because if they did, that I could understand, this I can't. Thank you Blizzard for cutting the work of my government for them, they couldn't have possibly done this without your help. After all United States of America is considered the knight in shining armor of human rights and democracy, and we all can witness the shining examples of that here. Eliminating one of the very few means of entertainment in a country overrun by zealots was the right choice and a very humane one at that. And thank you for being so transparent and letting us know you were taking down the access to your services weeks before actually doing it, instead of just ignoring us and letting us rot in wonder and come to many different conclusions. |

i always used to admire blizzard customer service but this time, its just a BIG break down for a big Company like blizzard right before the new expansion. If this act is spread out, blizzard will loose all the credibility they already had, minuscule as it is. This is plain theft and robbery. I would have understood this ban since it's political reasons that blizz has no hand in (not that I agree that an online game should be involved in political matters), but to keep this matter in a hush-hush state for almost three days and only post an official reply after 97 pages of angry replies on their forums? That's just plain wrong. |

That is pretty awful to say the very least and that refunds won't be given out is just.....no words. I feel for you guys :(( /hug makes me sad to see that this is how it ended up @ Redkoala Well i'll see you on Draenor as i'm coming back to Horde shortly. @Iranian's - Syrian's and Sudan its a shame these laws got strictor but not all hope is lost there are other ways you can continue to play this game as in 20 pages back or so someone was linking web pages to Free Private Server's you could still enjoy the game on them thats the last bit of advice i can give you now that Blizzard finally admited it was them and not your countries. Well goodluck with the future. |

I'm not sure what thread you were reading but most of the iranians conducted themselves with neither maturity of intelligence. |
Let's see your reaction when you get banned from playing a game which you liked for almost 7 or 8 years! |
